Balaam’s First Message

23Balaam said, "Build me seven altars here, and prepare seven bulls and seven rams for me."H1109H559H1111H1129H7651H4196H3559H7651H6499H7651H3522Balak did as Balaam said, and the two of them offered a bull and a ram on each altar.H1111H6213H1109H1696H1111H1109H5927H4196H6499H3523Then Balaam said to Balak, "Stay here beside your offering while I go aside. Perhaps the LORD will come to meet with me. Whatever he reveals to me I will tell you." Then he went off to a barren height.H1109H559H1111H3320H5930H3212H3068H7136H7125H1697H7200H5046H3212H82054God met with him, and Balaam said, "I have prepared seven altars, and on each altar I have offered a bull and a ram."H430H7136H1109H559H6186H7651H4196H5927H4196H6499H3525The LORD put a message in Balaam's mouth and said, "Go back to Balak and give him this message."H3068H7760H1697H1109H6310H559H7725H1111H16966So he went back to him and found him standing beside his offering, with all the princes of Moab.H7725H5324H5930H8269H41247Then Balaam uttered his oracle: "Balak brought me from Aram, the king of Moab from the eastern mountains. 'Come,' he said, 'curse Jacob for me; come, denounce Israel.'H5375H4912H559H1111H4428H4124H5148H758H2042H6924H3212H779H3290H3212H2194H34788How can I curse those whom God has not cursed? How can I denounce those whom the LORD has not denounced?H4100H5344H410H6895H2194H3068H21949From the rocky peaks I see them, from the heights I view them. I see a people who live apart and do not consider themselves one of the nations.H7218H6697H7200H1389H7789H5971H7931H910H2803H147110Who can count the dust of Jacob or number the fourth part of Israel? Let me die the death of the righteous, and may my end be like theirs!"H4487H6083H3290H4557H7255H3478H4191H5315H4194H3477H31911Balak said to Balaam, "What have you done to me? I brought you to curse my enemies, but you have done nothing but bless them!"H1111H559H1109H6213H3947H6895H341H1288H128812He answered, "Must I not speak what the LORD puts in my mouth?"H6030H559H8104H1696H3068H7760H6310

Balaam’s Second Message

13Then Balak said to him, "Come with me to another place where you can see them; you will see only a part but not all of them. And from there, curse them for me."H1111H559H3212H312H4725H7200H7200H657H7097H7200H689514So he took him to the field of Zophim on the top of Pisgah, and there he built seven altars and offered a bull and a ram on each altar.H3947H7704H6839H6822H7218H6449H1129H7651H4196H5927H6499H352H419615Balaam said to Balak, "Stay here beside your offering while I meet with him over there."H559H1111H3320H3541H5930H7136H354116The LORD met with Balaam and put a message in his mouth and said, "Go back to Balak and give him this message."H3068H7136H1109H7760H1697H6310H559H7725H1111H169617So he went to him and found him standing beside his offering, with the princes of Moab. Balak asked him, "What did the LORD say?"H935H5324H5930H8269H4124H1111H559H3068H169618Then he uttered his oracle: "Arise, Balak, and listen; hear me, son of Zippor.H5375H4912H559H6965H1111H8085H238H1121H683419God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?H410H376H3576H1121H120H5162H559H6213H1696H696520I have received a command to bless; he has blessed, and I cannot change it.H3947H1288H1288H772521"No misfortune is seen in Jacob, no misery observed in Israel. The LORD their God is with them; the shout of the King is among them.H5027H205H3290H7200H5999H3478H3068H430H8643H442822God brought them out of Egypt; they have the strength of a wild ox.H410H3318H4714H8443H721423There is no sorcery against Jacob, no divination against Israel. It will now be said of Jacob and of Israel, 'See what God has done!'H5173H3290H7081H3478H6256H559H3290H3478H410H646624The people rise like a lioness; they rouse themselves like a lion that does not rest till he devours his prey and drinks the blood of his victims."H5971H6965H3833H5375H738H7901H398H2964H8354H1818H249125Then Balak said to Balaam, "Neither curse them at all nor bless them at all!"H1111H559H1109H5344H6895H1288H128826Balaam answered, "Did I not tell you I must do whatever the LORD says?"H1109H6030H559H1111H1696H559H3068H1696H6213

Balaam’s Third Message

27Then Balak said to Balaam, "Come, let me take you to another place. Perhaps it will please God to let you curse them for me from there."H1111H559H1109H3212H3947H312H4725H3474H5869H430H689528And Balak took Balaam to the top of Peor, overlooking the wasteland.H1111H3947H1109H7218H6465H8259H6440H345229Balaam said, "Build me seven altars here, and prepare seven bulls and seven rams for me."H1109H559H1111H1129H7651H4196H3559H7651H6499H7651H35230Balak did as Balaam had said, and offered a bull and a ram on each altar.H1111H6213H1109H559H5927H6499H352H4196
