Spiritual Gifts

12Now concerning spiritual gifts, brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be uninformed.G1161G4012G4152G80G2309G3756G2309G5209G502You know that when you were pagans, you were enticed and led astray to idols that could not speak.G1492G3754G2258G1484G520G4314G880G1497G5613G302G713Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking by the Spirit of God ever says "Let Jesus be cursed!" and no one can say "Jesus is Lord" except by the Holy Spirit.G1352G1107G5213G1107G3754G3762G2980G1722G4151G2316G3004G2424G331G2532G3762G1410G2036G2424G2962G1508G1722G40G41514Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit;G1161G1526G1243G5486G1161G846G41515and there are varieties of services, but the same Lord;G2532G1526G1243G1248G2532G846G29626and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who activates all of them in everyone.G2532G1526G1243G1755G1161G2076G846G2316G3588G1754G3956G1722G39567To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.G1161G5321G4151G1325G1538G4314G48518To one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit,G1063G3739G3303G1325G1223G4151G3056G4678G1161G243G3056G1108G2596G846G41519to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit,G1161G2087G4102G1722G846G4151G1161G243G5486G2386G1722G846G415110to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the discernment of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.G1161G243G1755G1411G1161G243G4394G1161G243G1253G4151G1161G2087G1085G1100G1161G243G2058G110011All these are activated by one and the same Spirit, who allots to each one individually just as the Spirit chooses.G1161G3956G5023G1754G1520G2532G846G4151G1244G1538G2398G2531G1014

One Body with Many Members

12For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.G1063G2509G4983G2076G1520G2532G2192G4183G3196G1161G3956G3196G1520G4983G5607G4183G2076G1520G4983G3779G2532G554713For in the one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.G1063G2532G1722G1520G4151G907G2249G3956G907G1519G1520G4983G1535G2453G1535G1672G1535G1401G1535G1658G2532G4222G3956G4222G1519G1520G415114Indeed, the body does not consist of one member but of many.G2532G1063G4983G2076G3756G1520G3196G235G418315If the foot would say, "Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body," that would not make it any less a part of the body.G1437G4228G2036G3754G1510G3756G5495G1510G3756G1537G4983G2076G3756G3844G5124G3756G1537G498316And if the ear would say, "Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body," that would not make it any less a part of the body.G2532G1437G3775G2036G3754G1510G3756G3788G1510G3756G1537G4983G2076G3756G3844G5124G3756G1537G498317If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole body were hearing, where would the sense of smell be?G1487G3650G4983G3788G4226G189G1487G3650G189G4226G375018But as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as he chose.G1161G3570G5087G2316G5087G3196G1538G1520G846G1722G4983G2531G230919If all were a single member, where would the body be?G1161G1487G2258G3956G1520G3196G4226G498320As it is, there are many members, yet one body.G1161G3568G3303G4183G3196G1161G1520G498321The eye cannot say to the hand, "I have no need of you," nor again the head to the feet, "I have no need of you."G1161G3788G3756G1410G2036G5495G2192G3756G5532G4675G2228G3825G2776G4228G2192G3756G5532G521622On the contrary, the members of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable,G235G4183G3123G3196G4983G1380G5225G772G2076G31623and those members of the body that we think less honorable we clothe with greater honor, and our less respectable members are treated with greater respect;G2532G3739G4983G1380G1511G820G5125G4060G4055G5092G2532G2257G809G2192G4055G215724whereas our more respectable members do not need this. But God has so arranged the body, giving the greater honor to the inferior member,G1161G2257G2158G2192G3756G5532G235G2316G4786G4983G4786G1325G4055G5092G530225that there may be no dissension within the body, but the members may have the same care for one another.G3363G5600G3363G4978G1722G4983G235G3196G3309G846G3309G5228G24026If one member suffers, all suffer together with it; if one member is honored, all rejoice together with it.G2532G1535G1520G3196G3958G3956G3196G4841G1535G1520G3196G1392G3956G3196G479627Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it.G1161G5210G2075G4983G5547G2532G3196G1537G331328And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers; then deeds of power, then gifts of healing, forms of assistance, forms of leadership, various kinds of tongues.G2532G3739G2316G5087G3303G1722G1577G4412G652G1208G4396G5154G1320G1899G1411G1534G5486G2386G484G2941G1085G110029Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles?G3361G3956G652G3361G3956G4396G3361G3956G1320G3361G3956G141130Do all possess gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret?G3361G2192G3956G5486G2386G3956G3361G2980G1100G3361G3956G132931But strive for the greater gifts. And I will show you a still more excellent way.G1161G2206G2909G5486G2532G2089G1166G5213G2596G5236G3598

Prayer Tents is a Christian mission organization that serves Christians around the world and their local bodies to make disciples ("evangelize") more effectively in their communities. Prayer Tents provides resources to enable Christians to form discipleship-focused small groups and make their gatherings known so that other "interested" people may participate and experience Christ in their midst. Our Vision is to make disciples in all nations through the local churches so that anyone seeking God can come to know Him through relationships with other Christians near them.
