The Queen of Sheba’s Praise of Solomon

10Now when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the LORD, she came to test him with hard questions.H4436H7614H8085H8088H8010H8034H3068H935H5254H2420 2She came to Jerusalem with a very great retinue, with camels that bore spices, very much gold, and precious stones; and when she came to Solomon, she spoke with him about all that was in her heart.H935H3389H3966H3515H2428H1581H5375H1314H3966H7227H2091H3368H68H935H8010H1696H3824 3So Solomon answered all her questions; there was nothing so difficult for the king that he could not explain it to her.H8010H5046H1697H1697H5956H4428H5046 4And when the queen of Sheba had seen all the wisdom of Solomon, the house that he had built,H4436H7614H7200H8010H2451H1004H1129 5the food on his table, the seating of his servants, the service of his waiters and their apparel, his cupbearers, and his entryway by which he went up to the house of the LORD, there was no more spirit in her.H3978H7979H4186H5650H4612H8334H4403H8248H5930H5927H1004H3068H7307 6Then she said to the king: "It was a true report which I heard in my own land about your words and your wisdom.H559H4428H571H1697H8085H776H1697H2451 7"However I did not believe the words until I came and saw with my own eyes; and indeed the half was not told me. Your wisdom and prosperity exceed the fame of which I heard.H539H1697H935H5869H7200H2677H5046H2451H2896H3254H8052H8085 8"Happy are your men and happy are these your servants, who stand continually before you and hear your wisdom!H835H582H835H5650H5975H8548H6440H8085H2451 9"Blessed be the LORD your God, who delighted in you, setting you on the throne of Israel! Because the LORD has loved Israel forever, therefore He made you king, to do justice and righteousness."H1288H3068H430H2654H5414H3678H3478H3068H160H3478H5769H7760H4428H6213H4941H6666 10Then she gave the king one hundred and twenty talents of gold, spices in great quantity, and precious stones. There never again came such abundance of spices as the queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon.H5414H4428H3967H6242H3603H2091H1314H3966H7235H3368H68H935H1931H7230H1314H4436H7614H5414H4428H8010 11Also, the ships of Hiram, which brought gold from Ophir, brought great quantities of almug wood and precious stones from Ophir.H590H2438H5375H2091H211H935H211H3966H7235H484H6086H3368H68 12And the king made steps of the almug wood for the house of the LORD and for the king's house, also harps and stringed instruments for singers. There never again came such almug wood, nor has the like been seen to this day.H4428H6213H484H6086H4552H1004H3068H4428H1004H3658H5035H7891H935H484H6086H7200H3117 13Now King Solomon gave the queen of Sheba all she desired, whatever she asked, besides what Solomon had given her according to the royal generosity. So she turned and went to her own country, she and her servants.H4428H8010H5414H4436H7614H2656H7592H8010H5414H4428H3027H6437H3212H776H5650

Solomon’s Great Wealth

14The weight of gold that came to Solomon yearly was six hundred and sixty-six talents of gold,H4948H2091H935H8010H259H8141H8337H3967H8346H8337H3603H2091 15besides that from the traveling merchants, from the income of traders, from all the kings of Arabia, and from the governors of the country.H582H8446H4536H7402H4428H6153H6346H776 16And King Solomon made two hundred large shields of hammered gold; six hundred shekels of gold went into each shield.H4428H8010H6213H3967H6793H7820H2091H8337H3967H2091H5927H259H6793 17He also made three hundred shields of hammered gold; three minas of gold went into each shield. The king put them in the House of the Forest of Lebanon.H7969H3967H4043H7820H2091H7969H4488H2091H5927H259H4043H4428H5414H1004H3293H3844 18Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with pure gold.H4428H6213H1419H3678H8127H6823H6338H2091 19The throne had six steps, and the top of the throne was round at the back; there were armrests on either side of the place of the seat, and two lions stood beside the armrests.H3678H8337H4609H7218H3678H5696H310H3027H4725H7675H8147H738H5975H681H3027 20Twelve lions stood there, one on each side of the six steps; nothing like this had been made for any other kingdom.H8147H6240H738H5975H8337H4609H3651H6213H4467 21All King Solomon's drinking vessels were gold, and all the vessels of the House of the Forest of Lebanon were pure gold. Not one was silver, for this was accounted as nothing in the days of Solomon.H4428H8010H4945H3627H2091H3627H1004H3293H3844H5462H2091H3701H3972H2803H3117H8010 22For the king had merchant ships at sea with the fleet of Hiram. Once every three years the merchant ships came bringing gold, silver, ivory, apes, and monkeys.H4428H3220H590H8659H590H2438H259H7969H8141H935H590H8659H5375H2091H3701H8143H6971H8500 23So King Solomon surpassed all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom.H4428H8010H1431H4428H776H6239H2451 24Now all the earth sought the presence of Solomon to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.H776H1245H6440H8010H8085H2451H430H5414H3820 25Each man brought his present: articles of silver and gold, garments, armor, spices, horses, and mules, at a set rate year by year.H935H376H4503H3627H3701H3627H2091H8008H5402H1314H5483H6505H1697H8141H8141 26And Solomon gathered chariots and horsemen; he had one thousand four hundred chariots and twelve thousand horsemen, whom he stationed in the chariot cities and with the king in Jerusalem.H8010H622H7393H6571H505H702H3967H7393H8147H6240H505H6571H5148H5892H7393H4428H3389 27The king made silver as common in Jerusalem as stones, and he made cedar trees as abundant as the sycamores which are in the lowland.H4428H5414H3701H3389H68H730H5414H8256H8219H7230 28Also Solomon had horses imported from Egypt and Keveh; the king's merchants bought them in Keveh at the current price.H8010H5483H4161H4714H4723H4428H5503H3947H4723H4242 29Now a chariot that was imported from Egypt cost six hundred shekels of silver, and a horse one hundred and fifty; and thus, through their agents, they exported them to all the kings of the Hittites and the kings of Syria.H4818H5927H3318H4714H8337H3967H3701H5483H3967H2572H4428H2850H4428H758H3318H3027
