David Protected from Saul

19Now Saul told Jonathan his son and all his servants to put David to death. But Jonathan, Saul's son, greatly delighted in David.H7586H1696H3129H1121H5650H4191H17322So Jonathan told David saying, "Saul my father is seeking to put you to death. Now therefore, please be on guard in the morning, and stay in a secret place and hide yourself.H3083H7586H1121H2654H3966H1732H3083H5046H1732H559H7586H1H1245H4191H8104H1242H3427H5643H22443"And I will go out and stand beside my father in the field where you are, and I will speak with my father about you; if I find out anything, then I shall tell you."H3318H5975H3027H1H7704H1696H1H4100H7200H50464Then Jonathan spoke well of David to Saul his father, and said to him, "Do not let the king sin against his servant David, since he has not sinned against you, and since his deeds [have been] very beneficial to you.H3083H1696H2896H1732H7586H1H559H4428H2398H5650H1732H2398H4639H3966H28965"For he took his life in his hand and struck the Philistine, and the LORD brought about a great deliverance for all Israel; you saw [it] and rejoiced. Why then will you sin against innocent blood, by putting David to death without a cause?"H7760H5315H3709H5221H6430H3068H6213H1419H8668H3478H7200H8055H2398H5355H1818H4191H1732H26006And Saul listened to the voice of Jonathan, and Saul vowed, "As the LORD lives, he shall not be put to death."H7586H8085H6963H3083H7586H7650H3068H2416H518H41917Then Jonathan called David, and Jonathan told him all these words. And Jonathan brought David to Saul, and he was in his presence as formerly.H3083H7121H1732H3083H5046H1697H3083H935H1732H7586H6440H865H80328When there was war again, David went out and fought with the Philistines, and defeated them with great slaughter, so that they fled before him.H4421H3254H1732H3318H3898H6430H5221H1419H4347H5127H64409Now there was an evil spirit from the LORD on Saul as he was sitting in his house with his spear in his hand, and David was playing [the harp] with [his] hand.H7451H7307H3068H7586H3427H1004H2595H3027H1732H5059H302710And Saul tried to pin David to the wall with the spear, but he slipped away out of Saul's presence, so that he stuck the spear into the wall. And David fled and escaped that night.H7586H1245H5221H1732H7023H2595H6362H7586H6440H5221H2595H7023H1732H5127H4422H391511Then Saul sent messengers to David's house to watch him, in order to put him to death in the morning. But Michal, David's wife, told him, saying, "If you do not save your life tonight, tomorrow you will be put to death."H7586H7971H4397H1732H1004H8104H4191H1242H4324H1732H802H5046H559H4422H5315H3915H4279H419112So Michal let David down through a window, and he went out and fled and escaped.H4324H3381H1732H3381H2474H3212H1272H442213And Michal took the household idol and laid [it] on the bed, and put a quilt of goats' [hair] at its head, and covered [it] with clothes.H4324H3947H8655H7760H4296H7760H3523H5795H4763H3680H89914When Saul sent messengers to take David, she said, "He is sick."H7586H7971H4397H3947H1732H559H247015Then Saul sent messengers to see David, saying, "Bring him up to me on his bed, that I may put him to death."H7586H7971H4397H7200H1732H559H5927H4296H419116When the messengers entered, behold, the household idol [was] on the bed with the quilt of goats' [hair] at its head.H4397H935H8655H4296H3523H5795H476317So Saul said to Michal, "Why have you deceived me like this and let my enemy go, so that he has escaped?" And Michal said to Saul, "He said to me, 'Let me go! Why should I put you to death?'"H7586H559H4324H7411H7971H341H4422H4324H559H7586H559H7971H419118Now David fled and escaped and came to Samuel at Ramah, and told him all that Saul had done to him. And he and Samuel went and stayed in Naioth.H1732H1272H4422H935H8050H7414H5046H7586H6213H8050H3212H3427H512119And it was told Saul, saying, "Behold, David is at Naioth in Ramah."H5046H7586H559H1732H5121H741420Then Saul sent messengers to take David, but when they saw the company of the prophets prophesying, with Samuel standing [and] presiding over them, the Spirit of God came upon the messengers of Saul; and they also prophesied.H7586H7971H4397H3947H1732H7200H3862H5030H5012H8050H5975H5324H7307H430H4397H7586H501221And when it was told Saul, he sent other messengers, and they also prophesied. So Saul sent messengers again the third time, and they also prophesied.H5046H7586H7971H312H4397H5012H7586H7971H4397H3254H7992H501222Then he himself went to Ramah, and came as far as the large well that is in Secu; and he asked and said, "Where are Samuel and David?" And [someone] said, "Behold, they are at Naioth in Ramah."H3212H7414H935H1419H953H7906H7592H559H375H8050H1732H559H5121H741423And he proceeded there to Naioth in Ramah; and the Spirit of God came upon him also, so that he went along prophesying continually until he came to Naioth in Ramah.H3212H5121H7414H7307H430H3212H1980H5012H935H5121H741424And he also stripped off his clothes, and he too prophesied before Samuel and lay down naked all that day and all that night. Therefore they say, "Is Saul also among the prophets?"H6584H899H1571H5012H6440H8050H5307H6174H3117H3915H559H7586H5030
