The Plague of Locusts

10Then the LORD said to Moses, "Go to Pharaoh, for I have hardened his heart and the heart of his servants, that I may perform these signs of Mine among them,H3068H559H4872H935H6547H3513H3820H3820H5650H7896H226H7130 2and that you may tell in the hearing of your son, and of your grandson, how I made a mockery of the Egyptians, and how I performed My signs among them; that you may know that I am the LORD. "H5608H241H1121H1121H1121H5953H4714H226H7760H3045H3068 3And Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said to him, "Thus says the LORD, the God of the Hebrews, 'How long will you refuse to humble yourself before Me? Let My people go, that they may serve Me.H4872H175H935H6547H559H559H3068H430H5680H4970H3985H6031H6440H5971H7971H5647 4'For if you refuse to let My people go, behold, tomorrow I will bring locusts into your territory.H3588H3986H5971H7971H4279H935H697H1366 5'And they shall cover the surface of the land, so that no one shall be able to see the land. They shall also eat the rest of what has escaped— what is left to you from the hail— and they shall eat every tree which sprouts for you out of the field.H3680H5869H776H3201H7200H776H398H3499H6413H7604H1259H398H6086H6779H7704 6'Then your houses shall be filled, and the houses of all your servants and the houses of all the Egyptians, [something] which neither your fathers nor your grandfathers have seen, from the day that they came upon the earth until this day.' "And he turned and went out from Pharaoh.H4390H1004H1004H5650H1004H4714H1H1H1H7200H3117H127H3117H6437H3318H6547 7And Pharaoh's servants said to him, "How long will this man be a snare to us? Let the men go, that they may serve the LORD their God. Do you not realize that Egypt is destroyed?"H6547H5650H559H4170H582H7971H5647H3068H430H3045H2962H4714H6 8So Moses and Aaron were brought back to Pharaoh, and he said to them, "Go, serve the LORD your God! Who are the ones that are going?"H4872H175H7725H6547H559H3212H5647H3068H430H1980 9And Moses said, "We shall go with our young and our old; with our sons and our daughters, with our flocks and our herds we will go, for we must hold a feast to the LORD."H4872H559H3212H5288H2205H1121H1323H6629H1241H3212H2282H3068 10Then he said to them, "Thus may the LORD be with you, if ever I let you and your little ones go! Take heed, for evil is in your mind.H559H3068H7971H2945H7200H7451H6440 11"Not so! Go now, the men [among you,] and serve the LORD, for that is what you desire." So they were driven out from Pharaoh's presence.H3212H1397H5647H3068H1245H1644H6547H6440 12Then the LORD said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts, that they may come up on the land of Egypt, and eat every plant of the land, [even] all that the hail has left."H3068H559H4872H5186H3027H776H4714H697H5927H776H4714H398H6212H776H1259H7604 13So Moses stretched out his staff over the land of Egypt, and the LORD directed an east wind on the land all that day and all that night; and when it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts.H4872H5186H4294H776H4714H3068H5090H6921H7307H776H3117H3915H1242H6921H7307H5375H697 14And the locusts came up over all the land of Egypt and settled in all the territory of Egypt; [they were] very numerous. There had never been so [many] locusts, nor would there be so [many] again.H697H5927H776H4714H5117H1366H4714H3966H3515H6440H3651H697H310 15For they covered the surface of the whole land, so that the land was darkened; and they ate every plant of the land and all the fruit of the trees that the hail had left. Thus nothing green was left on tree or plant of the field through all the land of Egypt.H3680H5869H776H776H2821H398H6212H776H6529H6086H1259H3498H3498H3418H6086H6212H7704H776H4714 16Then Pharaoh hurriedly called for Moses and Aaron, and he said, "I have sinned against the LORD your God and against you.H6547H7121H4872H175H4116H559H2398H3068H430 17"Now therefore, please forgive my sin only this once, and make supplication to the LORD your God, that He would only remove this death from me."H5375H2403H6471H6279H3068H430H5493H4194 18And he went out from Pharaoh and made supplication to the LORD.H3318H6547H6279H3068 19So the LORD shifted [the wind] to a very strong west wind which took up the locusts and drove them into the Red Sea; not one locust was left in all the territory of Egypt.H3068H2015H3966H2389H3220H7307H5375H697H8628H5488H3220H7604H259H697H1366H4714 20But the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he did not let the sons of Israel go.H3068H2388H6547H3820H1121H3478H7971

Darkness over the Land

21Then the LORD said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand toward the sky, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even a darkness which may be felt."H3068H559H4872H5186H3027H8064H2822H776H4714H2822H4959 22So Moses stretched out his hand toward the sky, and there was thick darkness in all the land of Egypt for three days.H4872H5186H3027H8064H653H2822H776H4714H7969H3117 23They did not see one another, nor did anyone rise from his place for three days, but all the sons of Israel had light in their dwellings.H7200H376H251H6965H376H7969H3117H1121H3478H216H4186 24Then Pharaoh called to Moses, and said, "Go, serve the LORD; only let your flocks and your herds be detained. Even your little ones may go with you."H6547H7121H4872H559H3212H5647H3068H6629H1241H3322H2945H3212 25But Moses said, "You must also let us have sacrifices and burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice [them] to the LORD our God.H4872H559H5414H3027H2077H5930H6213H3068H430 26"Therefore, our livestock, too, will go with us; not a hoof will be left behind, for we shall take some of them to serve the LORD our God. And until we arrive there, we ourselves do not know with what we shall serve the LORD."H4735H3212H6541H7604H3947H5647H3068H430H3045H5647H3068H935 27But the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he was not willing to let them go.H3068H2388H6547H3820H14H7971 28Then Pharaoh said to him, "Get away from me! Beware, do not see my face again, for in the day you see my face you shall die!"H6547H559H3212H8104H7200H6440H3254H3117H7200H6440H4191 29And Moses said, "You are right; I shall never see your face again!"H4872H559H1696H3651H7200H6440H3254
