Genesis 2

2Heaven and Earth were finished, down to the last detail.H8064H776H3615H66352By the seventh day God had finished his work. On the seventh day he rested from all his work.H7637H3117H430H3615H4399H6213H7673H7637H3117H4399H62133God blessed the seventh day. He made it a Holy Day Because on that day he rested from his work, all the creating God had done.H430H1288H7637H3117H6942H3588H7673H4399H430H1254H62134This is the story of how it all started, of Heaven and Earth when they were created.H428H8435H8064H776H1254H3117H3068H430H6213H776H8064

Adam and Eve

5At the time GOD made Earth and Heaven, before any grasses or shrubs had sprouted from the ground—GOD hadn't yet sent rain on Earth, nor was there anyone around to work the groundH7880H7704H2962H776H6212H7704H2962H6779H3588H3068H430H3808H4305H776H369H120H5647H1276(the whole Earth was watered by underground springs)—H5927H108H4480H776H8248H6440H1277GOD formed Man out of dirt from the ground and blew into his nostrils the breath of life. The Man came alive—a living soul!H3068H430H3335H120H6083H4480H127H5301H639H5397H2416H120H2416H53158Then GOD planted a garden in Eden, in the east. He put the Man he had just made in it.H3068H430H5193H1588H6924H5731H8033H7760H120H834H33359GOD made all kinds of trees grow from the ground, trees beautiful to look at and good to eat. The Tree-of-Life was in the middle of the garden, also the Tree-of-Knowledge-of-Good-and-Evil.H4480H127H6779H3068H430H6779H6086H2530H4758H2896H3978H6086H2416H8432H1588H6086H1847H2896H745110A river flows out of Eden to water the garden and from there divides into four rivers.H5104H3318H5731H8248H1588H6504H702H721811The first is named Pishon; it flows through Havilah where there is gold.H8034H259H6376H1931H5437H776H2341H834H209112The gold of this land is good. The land is also known for a sweet-scented resin and the onyx stone.H2091H1931H776H2896H916H7718H6813The second river is named Gihon; it flows through the land of Cush.H8034H8145H5104H1521H5437H776H356814The third river is named Hiddekel and flows east of Assyria. The fourth river is the Euphrates.H8034H7992H5104H2313H1980H6926H804H7243H5104H657815GOD took the Man and set him down in the Garden of Eden to work the ground and keep it in order.H3068H430H3947H120H3240H1588H5731H5647H810416GOD commanded the Man, "You can eat from any tree in the garden,H3068H430H6680H120H559H6086H1588H398H39817except from the Tree-of-Knowledge-of-Good-and-Evil. Don't eat from it. The moment you eat from that tree, you're dead."H6086H1847H2896H7451H398H3117H398H4191H419118GOD said, "It's not good for the Man to be alone; I'll make him a helper, a companion."H3068H430H559H2896H120H1961H6213H582819So GOD formed from the dirt of the ground all the animals of the field and all the birds of the air. He brought them to the Man to see what he would name them. Whatever the Man called each living creature, that was its name.H127H3068H430H3335H2416H7704H5775H8064H935H120H7200H7121H120H7121H2416H5315H1931H803420The Man named the cattle, named the birds of the air, named the wild animals; but he didn't find a suitable companion.H120H7121H8034H929H5775H8064H2416H7704H120H4672H582821GOD put the Man into a deep sleep. As he slept he removed one of his ribs and replaced it with flesh.H3068H430H5307H8639H5307H121H3462H3947H259H6763H5462H132022GOD then used the rib that he had taken from the Man to make Woman and presented her to the Man.H6763H3068H430H3947H120H1129H802H935H12023The Man said, "Finally! Bone of my bone, flesh of my flesh! Name her Woman for she was made from Man."H120H559H2063H6471H6106H6106H1320H1320H2063H7121H802H2063H3947H37624Therefore a man leaves his father and mother and embraces his wife. They become one flesh.H3651H376H5800H1H517H1692H802H259H132025The two of them, the Man and his Wife, were naked, but they felt no shame.H8147H6174H120H802H954

Prayer Tents is a Christian mission organization that serves Christians around the world and their local bodies to make disciples ("evangelize") more effectively in their communities. Prayer Tents provides resources to enable Christians to form discipleship-focused small groups and make their gatherings known so that other "interested" people may participate and experience Christ in their midst. Our Vision is to make disciples in all nations through the local churches so that anyone seeking God can come to know Him through relationships with other Christians near them.
