The Creation

1In the beginning, God created the universe.H7225H430H1254H853H8064H853H776 2When the earth was as yet unformed and desolate, with the surface of the ocean depths shrouded in darkness, and while the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters,H776H1961H8414H922H2822H6440H8415H7307H430H7363H5921H6440H4325 3God said, "Let there be light!" So there was light.H430H559H1961H216H216 4God saw that the light was beautiful. He separated the light from the darkness,H430H7200H853H216H3588H2896H430H914H996H216H996H2822 5calling the light "day," and the darkness "night." The twilight and dawn were day one.H430H7121H216H3117H2822H7121H3915H6153H1242H259H3117 6Then God said, "Let there be a canopy between bodies of water, separating bodies of water from bodies of water!"H430H559H7549H8432H4325H914H4325H4325 7So God made a canopy that separated the water beneath the canopy from the water above it. So that's the way it was.H430H6213H7549H914H4325H834H8478H7549H4325H834H5921H7549H3651 8God called the canopy "sky." The twilight and the dawn were the second day.H430H7121H7549H8064H6153H1242H8145H3117 9Then God said, "Let the water beneath the sky come together into one area, and let dry ground appear!" So that's the way it was.H430H559H4325H8064H6960H413H259H4725H3004H7200 10God called the dry ground "land," and he called the water that had come together "oceans." And God saw how good it was.H430H7121H3004H776H4723H4325H7121H3220H430H7200H2896 11Then God said, "Let vegetation sprout all over the earth, including seed-bearing plants and fruit trees, each kind containing its own seed!" So that's the way it was:H430H559H776H1876H1877H6212H2232H2233H6529H6086H6213H6529H4327H834H2233H776 12Vegetation sprouted all over the earth, including seed-bearing plants and fruit trees, each kind containing its own seed. And God saw that it was good.H776H3318H1877H6212H2232H2233H4327H6086H6213H6529H2233H4327H430H7200H2896 13The twilight and the dawn were the third day.H6153H1242H7992H3117 14Then God said, "Let there be lights across the sky to distinguish day from night, to act as signs for seasons, days, and years,H430H559H3974H7549H8064H914H3117H3915H226H4150H3117H8141 15to serve as lights in the sky, and to shine on the earth!" So that's the way it was.H3974H7549H8064H215H776 16God fashioned two great lights - the larger light to shine during the day and the smaller light to shine during the night - as well as the stars.H430H6213H8147H1419H3974H1419H3974H4475H3117H6996H3974H4475H3915H3556 17God placed them in the expanse of the sky to shine on the earth,H430H5414H7549H8064H215H776 18to shine both day and night, and to distinguish light from darkness. And God saw how good it was.H4910H3117H3915H914H216H2822H430H7200H2896 19The twilight and the dawn were the fourth day.1H6153H1242H7243H3117 20Then God said, "Let the oceans swarm with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth throughout the sky!"H430H559H4325H8317H8318H2416H5315H5775H5774H5921H776H6440H7549H8064 21So God created every kind of magnificent marine creature, every kind of living marine crawler with which the waters swarmed, and every kind of flying bird. And God saw how good it was.H430H1254H1419H8577H2416H5315H7430H4325H8317H4327H3671H5775H4327H430H7200H2896 22God blessed them by saying, "Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the oceans. Let the birds multiply throughout the earth!"H430H1288H559H6509H7235H4390H4325H3220H5775H7235H776 23The twilight and the dawn were the fifth day.1H6153H1242H2549H3117 24Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth each kind of living creature, each kind of livestock and crawling thing, and each kind of wild animal!" And so it was.H430H559H776H3318H2416H5315H4327H929H7431H2416H776H4327 25God made each kind of wild animal, along with every kind of livestock and crawling thing. And God saw how good it was.H430H6213H2416H776H4327H929H4327H7431H127H4327H430H7200H2896 26Then God said, "Let us make mankind in our image, to be like us. Let them be masters over the fish in the ocean, the birds that fly, the livestock, everything that crawls on the earth, and over the earth itself!"H430H559H6213H120H6754H1823H7287H1710H3220H5775H8064H929H776H7431H7430H776 27So God created mankind in his own image; in his own image God created them; he created them male and female.H430H1254H120H6754H6754H430H1254H2145H5347H1254 28God blessed these humans by saying to them, "Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it! Rule over the fish in the ocean, the birds that fly, and every living thing that crawls on the earth!"H430H1288H430H559H6509H7235H4390H776H3533H7287H1710H3220H5775H8064H2416H7430H776 29God also told them, "Look! I have given you every seed-bearing plant that grows throughout the earth, along with every tree that grows seed-bearing fruit. They will produce your food.H430H559H2009H5414H6212H2232H2233H6440H776H6086H6529H6086H2232H2233H1961H402 30I have given all green plants as food for every wild animal of the earth, every bird that flies, and to every living thing that crawls on the earth." And so it was.H2416H776H5775H8064H7430H776H2416H5315H3418H6212H402 31Now God saw all that he had made, and, indeed, it was very good! The twilight and the dawn were the sixth day.H430H7200H834H6213H3966H2896H6153H1242H8345H3117
