Human Corruption

6Now after human beings had increased in numbers throughout the earth and daughters had been born to them,H120H2490H7231H5921H6440H127H1323H3205 2some divine beings noticed how attractive human women were, so they took wives for themselves from a selection that pleased them.H1121H430H7200H1323H120H2007H2896H3947H802H977 3Then the LORD said, "My Spirit will not remain with human beings forever, because they are truly mortal. Their lifespan will be 120 years."H3068H559H7307H5769H1777H120H1571H1320H7683H3117H3967H6242H8141 4The Nephilim were on the earth in those days. Soon after, divine beings cohabited with human women, who gave birth to children for them. These children became the heroes of ancient times, men of renown.H5303H776H3117H310H3651H834H1121H430H935H1323H120H3205H1992H1368H5769H582H8034

God Decides to Destroy the World

5The LORD saw that human evil had grown significantly throughout the earth. Every inclination of people's thoughts was only evil on a continuous basis.H3068H7200H7451H120H7227H776H3336H4284H3820H7535H7451H3117 6Then the LORD regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and he was deeply grieved about that.H5162H3068H6213H120H776H6087H413H3820 7So the LORD said, "I will annihilate these human beings whom I've created from the earth, whether people, or animals, or crawling things, or flying birds, because I'm grieving that I made them."H3068H559H4229H120H1254H6440H127H120H5704H929H7431H5775H8064H5162H6213 8Noah, however, received favor in the sight of the LORD.H5146H4672H2580H5869H3068

Noah Obeys God

9These are the family records of Noah: Noah was a righteous man. Blameless during his lifetime, Noah communed with God.H8435H5146H5146H6662H376H8549H1755H5146H1980H430 10Noah fathered three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.H5146H3205H7969H1121H8035H2526H3315 11By this time, the earth had become ruined in God's opinion and filled with violence.H776H7843H6440H430H776H4390H2555 12God looked at the earth, observing how corrupt its population had become, because the entire human race had corrupted itself.H430H7200H776H7843H1320H7843H1870H776 13So God announced to Noah, "I've decided to destroy every living thing on earth, because it has become filled with violence through them. Look! I'm about to annihilate them, along with the earth.H430H559H5146H7093H1320H935H6440H776H4390H2555H6440H7843H854H776 14So make yourself an ark out of cedar, constructing compartments in it, and cover it inside and out with tar.H6213H8392H1613H6086H7064H6213H854H8392H3722H1004H2351H3724 15Make the ark like this: 450 feet long, 75 feet wide, and 45 feet high.H6213H753H8392H7969H3967H520H7341H2572H520H6967H7970H520 16Make a roof for the ark, and finish the walls to within one and a half feet from the top. Place the entrance in the side of the ark, and build a lower, a middle, and an upper deck. 614H6672H6213H8392H520H3615H4605H6607H8392H7760H6654H8482H8145H7992H6213 17"For my part, I'm about to flood the earth with water and destroy every living thing that breathes. Everything on earth will die.H2009H589H935H3999H4325H776H7843H1320H7307H2416H8478H8064H3605H776H1478 18However, I will establish my own covenant with you, and you are to enter the ark - you, your sons, your wife, and your sons' wives.H6965H1285H935H413H8392H859H1121H802H1121H802 19You are to bring two of every living thing into the ark so they may remain alive with you. They are to be male and female.H2416H1320H8147H935H8392H2421H2145H5347 20From birds after their kind, from domestic animals after their kind, and from everything that crawls on the ground after their kind - two of everything will come to you so they may remain alive.H5775H4327H929H4327H7431H127H4327H8147H935H2421 21For your part, take some of the edible food and store it away - these stores will be food for you and the animals."H3947H3978H398H622H402 22Noah did all of this, precisely as God had commanded.H6213H5146H430H6680H6213
