Giants in the Land

6When the human race began to increase, with more and more daughters being born,H120H2490H7231H5921H6440H127H1323H3205 2the sons of God noticed that the daughters of men were beautiful. They looked them over and picked out wives for themselves.H1121H430H7200H1323H120H2007H2896H3947H802H977 3Then GOD said, "I'm not going to breathe life into men and women endlessly. Eventually they're going to die; from now on they can expect a life span of 120 years."H3068H559H7307H5769H1777H120H1571H1320H7683H3117H3967H6242H8141 4This was back in the days (and also later) when there were giants in the land. The giants came from the union of the sons of God and the daughters of men. These were the mighty men of ancient lore, the famous ones.H5303H776H3117H310H3651H834H1121H430H935H1323H120H3205H1992H1368H5769H582H8034

Noah and His Sons

5GOD saw that human evil was out of control. People thought evil, imagined evil—evil, evil, evil from morning to night.H3068H7200H7451H120H7227H776H3336H4284H3820H7535H7451H3117 6GOD was sorry that he had made the human race in the first place; it broke his heart.H5162H3068H6213H120H776H6087H413H3820 7GOD said, "I'll get rid of my ruined creation, make a clean sweep: people, animals, snakes and bugs, birds—the works. I'm sorry I made them."H3068H559H4229H120H1254H6440H127H120H5704H929H7431H5775H8064H5162H6213 8But Noah was different. GOD liked what he saw in Noah.H5146H4672H2580H5869H3068 9This is the story of Noah: Noah was a good man, a man of integrity in his community. Noah walked with God.H8435H5146H5146H6662H376H8549H1755H5146H1980H430 10Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.H5146H3205H7969H1121H8035H2526H3315 11As far as God was concerned, the Earth had become a sewer; there was violence everywhere.H776H7843H6440H430H776H4390H2555 12God took one look and saw how bad it was, everyone corrupt and corrupting—life itself corrupt to the core.H430H7200H776H7843H1320H7843H1870H776 13God said to Noah, "It's all over. It's the end of the human race. The violence is everywhere; I'm making a clean sweep.H430H559H5146H7093H1320H935H6440H776H4390H2555H6440H7843H854H776 14"Build yourself a ship from teakwood. Make rooms in it. Coat it with pitch inside and out.H6213H8392H1613H6086H7064H6213H854H8392H3722H1004H2351H3724 15Make it 450 feet long, seventy-five feet wide, and forty-five feet high.H6213H753H8392H7969H3967H520H7341H2572H520H6967H7970H520 16Build a roof for it and put in a window eighteen inches from the top; put in a door on the side of the ship; and make three decks, lower, middle, and upper.H6672H6213H8392H520H3615H4605H6607H8392H7760H6654H8482H8145H7992H6213 17"I'm going to bring a flood on the Earth that will destroy everything alive under Heaven. Total destruction.H2009H589H935H3999H4325H776H7843H1320H7307H2416H8478H8064H3605H776H1478 18"But I'm going to establish a covenant with you: You'll board the ship, and your sons, your wife and your sons' wives will come on board with you.H6965H1285H935H413H8392H859H1121H802H1121H802 19You are also to take two of each living creature, a male and a female, on board the ship, to preserve their lives with you:H2416H1320H8147H935H8392H2421H2145H5347 20two of every species of bird, mammal, and reptile—two of everything so as to preserve their lives along with yours.H5775H4327H929H4327H7431H127H4327H8147H935H2421 21Also get all the food you'll need and store it up for you and them."H3947H3978H398H622H402 22Noah did everything God commanded him to do.H6213H5146H430H6680H6213
