Ephraim’s Iniquity

7When I would heal Israel, The iniquity of Ephraim is uncovered, And the evil deeds of Samaria, For they deal falsely; The thief enters in, Bandits raid outside,H7495H3478H5771H669H1540H7451H8111H6466H8267H1590H935H1416H6584H2351 2And they do not consider in their hearts That I remember all their wickedness. Now their deeds are all around them; They are before My face.H559H3824H2142H7451H4611H5437H6440 3With their wickedness they make the king glad, And the princes with their lies.H4428H8055H7451H8269H3585 4They are all adulterers Like an oven heated by the baker, Who ceases to stir up [the fire] From the kneading of the dough until it is leavened.H5003H8574H1197H644H7673H5782H3888H1217H2556 5On the day of our king, the princes became sick with the heat of wine; He stretched out his hand with scoffers,H3117H4428H8269H2470H2534H3196H4900H3027H3945 6For their hearts are like an oven [As] they approach their plotting; Their anger smolders all night, In the morning it burns like a flaming fire.H7126H3820H8574H693H644H3463H3915H1242H1197H3852H784 7All of them are hot like an oven, And they consume their rulers; All their kings have fallen. None of them calls on Me.H2552H8574H398H8199H4428H5307H7121 8Ephraim mixes himself with the nations; Ephraim has become a cake not turned.H669H1101H5971H669H5692H2015 9Strangers devour his strength, Yet he does not know [it]; Gray hairs also are sprinkled on him, Yet he does not know [it.]H2114H398H3581H3045H7872H2236H3045 10Though the pride of Israel testifies against him, Yet they have neither returned to the LORD their God, Nor have they sought Him, for all this.H1347H3478H6030H6440H7725H3068H430H1245 11So Ephraim has become like a silly dove, without sense; They call to Egypt, they go to Assyria.H669H6601H3123H3820H7121H4714H1980H804 12When they go, I will spread My net over them; I will bring them down like the birds of the sky. I will chastise them in accordance with the proclamation to their assembly.H3212H6566H7568H3381H5775H8064H3256H5712H8088 13Woe to them, for they have strayed from Me! Destruction is theirs, for they have rebelled against Me! I would redeem them, but they speak lies against Me.H188H5074H7701H6586H6299H1696H3577 14And they do not cry to Me from their heart When they wail on their beds; For the sake of grain and new wine they assemble themselves, They turn away from Me.H2199H3820H3213H4904H1481H1715H8492H5493 15Although I trained [and] strengthened their arms, Yet they devise evil against Me.H3256H2388H2220H2803H7451 16They turn, [but] not upward, They are like a deceitful bow; Their princes will fall by the sword Because of the insolence of their tongue. This [will be] their derision in the land of Egypt.H7725H5920H7423H7198H8269H5307H2719H2195H3956H2097H3933H776H4714
