Jeremiah’s Message for Zedekiah

21THE WORD which came to Jeremiah from the Lord when King Zedekiah sent to him Pashhur son of Malchiah, and Zephaniah the priest, the son of Maaseiah, saying,H1697H3414H3068H4428H6667H7971H6583H1121H4441H6846H1121H4641H3548H5592Inquire, I pray you, of the Lord for us, for Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon is making war against us. Perhaps the Lord will deal with us according to all His wonderful works, forcing him to withdraw from us.H1875H3068H1157H5019H4428H894H3898H3068H6213H6381H59273Then said Jeremiah to them, Say this to Zedekiah:H559H3414H559H66674Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: Behold, I will turn back {and} dull the edge of the weapons of war that are in your hands, with which you fight against the king of Babylon and the Chaldeans who are besieging you outside the walls; and I will bring them into the midst of this city [Jerusalem].H559H3068H430H3478H5437H3627H4421H3027H3898H4428H894H3778H6696H2351H2346H622H8432H58925And I Myself will fight against you with an outstretched hand and with a strong arm in anger, in fury, and in great indignation {and} wrath.H3898H5186H3027H2389H2220H639H2534H1419H71106And I will smite the inhabitants of this city, both man and beast; they will die of a great pestilence.H5221H3427H5892H120H929H4191H1419H16987And afterward, says the Lord, I will deliver Zedekiah king of Judah and his servants and the people in this city who survive the pestilence, the sword, and the famine, into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon and into the hands of their enemies, into the hands of those who seek their lives. And he will smite them with the edge of the sword; he will not spare them nor have pity or mercy {and} compassion upon them.H310H5002H3068H5414H6667H4428H3063H5650H5971H7604H5892H1698H2719H7458H3027H5019H4428H894H3027H341H3027H1245H5315H5221H6310H2719H2347H2550H73558And to this people you [Jeremiah] shall say, Thus says the Lord: Behold, I set before you the way of life and the way of death.H5971H559H559H3068H5414H6440H1870H2416H1870H41949He who remains in this city [Jerusalem] shall die by the sword and by famine and by pestilence. But he who goes out and passes over to the Chaldeans who besiege you, he shall live, and his life shall be to him his only booty [as a prize of war].H3427H5892H4191H2719H7458H1698H3318H5307H3778H6696H2421H2421H5315H799810For I have set My face against this city for evil and not for good, says the Lord. It shall be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire.H7760H6440H5892H7451H2896H5002H3068H5414H3027H4428H894H8313H78411And concerning the royal house of the king of Judah, hear the word of the Lord:H1004H4428H3063H8085H1697H306812O house of David, thus says the Lord: Execute justice in the morning, and deliver from the hand of the oppressor him who has been robbed, lest My wrath go forth like fire and burn so that none can quench it--because of the evil of your doings.H1004H1732H559H3068H1777H4941H1242H5337H1497H3027H6231H2534H3318H784H1197H3518H6440H7455H461113Behold, I am against you, O inhabitant of the valley, O rock of the plain, says the Lord--you who say, Who shall come down against us? Or, Who shall enter into our dwelling places?H3427H6010H6697H4334H5002H3068H559H5181H935H458514And I will punish you according to the fruit of your doings, says the Lord. I will kindle a fire in your forest, and it will devour all that is round about you.H6485H6529H4611H5002H3068H3341H784H3293H398H5439

Prayer Tents is a Christian mission organization that serves Christians around the world and their local bodies to make disciples ("evangelize") more effectively in their communities. Prayer Tents provides resources to enable Christians to form discipleship-focused small groups and make their gatherings known so that other "interested" people may participate and experience Christ in their midst. Our Vision is to make disciples in all nations through the local churches so that anyone seeking God can come to know Him through relationships with other Christians near them.
