Job 42

Job’s Confession

42THEN JOB said to the Lord,H347H6030H3068H5592I know that You can do all things, and that no thought {or} purpose of Yours can be restrained {or} thwarted.H3045H3201H4209H12193[You said to me] Who is this that darkens {and} obscures counsel [by words] without knowledge? Therefore [I now see] I have [rashly] uttered what I did not understand, things too wonderful for me, which I did not know.H5956H6098H1847H5046H995H6381H30454[I had virtually said to You what You have said to me:] Hear, I beseech You, and I will speak; I will demand of You, and You declare to me.H8085H1696H7592H30455I had heard of You [only] by the hearing of the ear, but now my [spiritual] eye sees You.H8085H8088H241H5869H72006Therefore I loathe [my words] {and} abhor myself and repent in dust and ashes.H3988H5162H6083H665

God Displeased with Job’s Friends

7After the Lord had spoken the previous words to Job, the Lord said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against you and against your two friends, for you have not spoken of Me the thing that is right, as My servant Job has.H310H3068H1696H1697H347H3068H559H464H8489H639H2734H8147H7453H1696H3559H5650H3478Now therefore take seven bullocks and seven rams and go to My servant Job and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and My servant Job shall pray for you, for I will accept [his prayer] that I deal not with you after your folly, in that you have not spoken of Me the thing that is right, as My servant Job has.H3947H7651H6499H7651H352H3212H5650H347H5927H5930H5650H347H6419H6440H5375H6213H5039H1696H3559H5650H3479So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went and did as the Lord commanded them; and the Lord accepted [Job's prayer].H464H8489H1085H7747H6691H5284H3212H6213H3068H1696H3068H5375H6440H347

God Restores Job’s Fortunes

10And the Lord turned the captivity of Job {and} restored his fortunes, when he prayed for his friends; also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.H3068H7725H7622H7622H347H6419H7453H3068H3254H347H493211Then there came to him all his brothers and sisters and all who had known him before, and they ate bread with him in his house; and they sympathized with him and comforted him over all the [distressing] calamities that the Lord had brought upon him. Every man also gave him a piece of money, and every man an earring of gold.H935H251H269H3045H6440H398H3899H1004H5110H5162H7451H3068H935H376H5414H259H7192H376H5141H209112And the Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning; for he had 14,000 sheep, 6,000 camels, 1,000 yoke of oxen, and 1,000 female donkeys.H3068H1288H319H347H7225H702H6240H505H6629H8337H505H1581H505H6776H1241H505H86013He had also seven sons and three daughters.H7658H1121H7969H132314And he called the name of the first Jemimah, and the name of the second Keziah, and the name of the third Keren-happuch.H7121H8034H259H3224H8034H8145H7103H8034H7992H716315And in all the land there were no women so fair as the daughters of Job, and their father gave them inheritance among their brothers.H776H802H4672H3303H1323H347H1H5414H5159H8432H25116After this, Job lived 140 years, and saw his sons and his sons' sons, even to four generations.H310H2421H347H3967H705H8141H7200H1121H1121H1121H702H175517So Job died, an old man and full of days.H347H4191H2205H7649H3117

Prayer Tents is a Christian mission organization that serves Christians around the world and their local bodies to make disciples ("evangelize") more effectively in their communities. Prayer Tents provides resources to enable Christians to form discipleship-focused small groups and make their gatherings known so that other "interested" people may participate and experience Christ in their midst. Our Vision is to make disciples in all nations through the local churches so that anyone seeking God can come to know Him through relationships with other Christians near them.
