Jesus Goes to Galilee

4When therefore the Lord knew that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus was making and baptizing more disciples than JohnG5613G3767G2962G1097G3754G5330G191G3754G2424G4160G2532G907G4119G3101G2228G24912(although Jesus Himself was not baptizing, but His disciples were),G2544G2424G846G907G3756G235G846G31013He left Judea, and departed again into Galilee.G863G2449G2532G565G3825G1519G10564And He had to pass through Samaria.G1161G1163G1330G1223G45405So He *came to a city of Samaria, called Sychar, near the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph;G3767G2064G1519G4172G4540G3004G4965G4139G5564G3739G2384G1325G846G5207G25016and Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied from His journey, was sitting thus by the well. It was about the sixth hour.G1161G2384G4077G2258G1563G2424G3767G2872G1537G3597G2516G3779G1909G4077G2258G5616G1623G5610

The Woman of Samaria

7There *came a woman of Samaria to draw water. Jesus *said to her, "Give Me a drink."G2064G1135G1537G4540G501G5204G2424G3004G846G1325G3427G40958For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.G1063G846G3101G565G1519G4172G2443G59G51609The Samaritan woman therefore *said to Him, "How is it that You, being a Jew, ask me for a drink since I am a Samaritan woman?" (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.)G3767G3004G1135G4542G846G4459G4771G5607G2453G154G4095G3844G1700G5607G1135G4542G1063G2453G4798G3756G4798G454110Jesus answered and said to her, "If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, 'Give Me a drink,' you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water."G2424G611G2532G2036G846G1487G1492G1431G2316G2532G5101G2076G3004G4671G1325G3427G4095G4771G302G154G846G2532G302G1325G4671G2198G520411She *said to Him, "Sir, You have nothing to draw with and the well is deep; where then do You get that living water?G1135G3004G846G2962G2192G3777G502G2532G5421G2076G901G4159G3767G2192G2198G520412"You are not greater than our father Jacob, are You, who gave us the well, and drank of it himself, and his sons, and his cattle?"G3361G1488G4771G3187G2257G3962G2384G3739G1325G2254G5421G2532G4095G1537G846G846G2532G846G5207G2532G846G235313Jesus answered and said to her, "Everyone who drinks of this water shall thirst again;G2424G611G2532G2036G846G3956G4095G1537G5127G5204G1372G382514but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life. "G1161G3739G302G4095G1537G5204G3739G1473G1325G846G1372G1519G165G3364G1372G235G5204G3739G1325G846G1096G1722G846G4077G5204G242G1519G166G222215The woman *said to Him, "Sir, give me this water, so I will not be thirsty, nor come all the way here to draw."G1135G3004G4314G846G2962G1325G3427G5124G5204G3363G1372G3363G3366G2064G1759G50116He *said to her, "Go, call your husband, and come here."G2424G3004G846G5217G5455G4675G435G2532G2064G175917The woman answered and said, "I have no husband." Jesus *said to her, "You have well said, 'I have no husband';G1135G611G2532G2036G2192G3756G435G2424G3004G846G2036G2573G2036G3754G2192G3756G43518for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; this you have said truly. "G1063G2192G4002G435G2532G3739G2192G3568G2192G2076G3756G4675G435G5124G2046G22719The woman *said to Him, "Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet.G1135G3004G846G2962G2334G3754G4771G1488G439620"Our fathers worshiped in this mountain, and you [people] say that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship."G2257G3962G4352G1722G5129G3735G2532G5210G3004G3754G1722G2414G2076G5117G3699G1163G435221Jesus *said to her, "Woman, believe Me, an hour is coming when neither in this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, shall you worship the Father.G2424G3004G846G1135G4100G3427G5610G3754G2064G3753G4352G3777G1722G5129G3735G3777G1722G2414G4352G396222"You worship that which you do not know; we worship that which we know, for salvation is from the Jews.G5210G4352G1492G3756G3739G1492G3739G2249G4352G3754G4991G2076G1537G245323"But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers.G235G5610G2064G2532G3568G2076G3753G228G4353G4352G3962G1722G4151G2532G225G2532G1063G3962G2212G5108G4352G84624"God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."G2316G4151G2532G4352G846G1163G4352G1722G4151G2532G22525The woman *said to Him, "I know that Messiah is coming (He who is called Christ); when that One comes, He will declare all things to us."G1135G3004G846G1492G3754G3323G2064G3588G3004G5547G3752G1565G2064G312G2254G395626Jesus *said to her, "I who speak to you am [He."]G2424G3004G846G1473G2980G4671G151027And at this point His disciples came, and they marveled that He had been speaking with a woman; yet no one said, "What do You seek?" or, "Why do You speak with her?"G2532G1909G5129G2064G846G3101G2532G2296G3754G2980G3326G1135G3305G3762G2036G5101G2212G2228G5101G2980G3326G84628So the woman left her waterpot, and went into the city, and *said to the men,G1135G3767G863G846G5201G2532G565G1519G4172G2532G3004G44429"Come, see a man who told me all the things that I [have] done; this is not the Christ, is it?"G1205G1492G444G3739G2036G3427G3956G3745G4160G2076G3385G3778G554730They went out of the city, and were coming to Him.G3767G1831G1537G4172G2532G2064G4314G84631In the meanwhile the disciples were requesting Him, saying, "Rabbi, eat."G1161G1722G3342G3101G2065G846G3004G4461G531532But He said to them, "I have food to eat that you do not know about."G1161G2036G846G1473G2192G1035G5315G3739G5210G1492G3756G149233The disciples therefore were saying to one another, "No one brought Him [anything] to eat, did he?"G3767G3004G3101G4314G240G5342G3387G5342G846G531534Jesus *said to them, "My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to accomplish His work.G2424G3004G846G1699G1033G2076G2443G4160G2307G3992G3165G2532G5048G846G204135"Do you not say, 'There are yet four months, and [then] comes the harvest'? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes, and look on the fields, that they are white for harvest.G3004G3756G5210G3754G2076G2089G5072G2532G2064G2326G2400G3004G5213G1869G5216G3788G2532G2300G5561G3754G1526G3022G2235G4314G232636"Already he who reaps is receiving wages, and is gathering fruit for life eternal; that he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together.G2532G2325G2983G3408G2532G4863G2590G1519G2222G166G2443G2532G4687G2532G2325G5463G367437"For in this [case] the saying is true, 'One sows, and another reaps.'G1063G1722G5129G2076G3056G228G3754G243G2076G4687G2532G243G232538"I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have entered into their labor."G1473G649G5209G2325G3739G5210G2872G3756G2872G243G2872G2532G5210G1525G1519G846G2873

The Samaritans

39And from that city many of the Samaritans believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified, "He told me all the things that I [have] done."G1161G4183G4541G1537G1565G4172G4100G1519G846G1223G3056G1135G3140G3754G2036G3427G3956G3745G416040So when the Samaritans came to Him, they were asking Him to stay with them; and He stayed there two days.G3767G5613G4541G2064G4314G846G2065G846G3306G3844G846G2532G3306G1563G1417G225041And many more believed because of His word;G2532G4183G4119G4100G1223G846G305642and they were saying to the woman, "It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves and know that this One is indeed the Savior of the world."G5037G3004G1135G3754G3765G4100G3754G1223G4674G2981G1063G191G846G2532G1492G3754G3778G2076G230G5547G4990G288943And after the two days He went forth from there into Galilee.G1161G3326G1417G2250G565G1831G1564G2532G1519G105644For Jesus Himself testified that a prophet has no honor in his own country.G1063G2424G846G3140G3754G4396G2192G3756G5092G1722G2398G396845So when He came to Galilee, the Galileans received Him, having seen all the things that He did in Jerusalem at the feast; for they themselves also went to the feast.G3767G3753G2064G1519G1056G1057G1209G846G3708G3956G3739G4160G1722G2414G1722G1859G1063G846G2532G2064G1519G1859

Healing a Nobleman’s Son

46He came therefore again to Cana of Galilee where He had made the water wine. And there was a certain royal official, whose son was sick at Capernaum.G3767G2424G2064G3825G1519G2580G1056G3699G4160G5204G3631G2532G2258G5100G937G3739G5207G770G1722G258447When he heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into Galilee, he went to Him, and was requesting [Him] to come down and heal his son; for he was at the point of death.G3778G191G3754G2424G2240G1537G2449G1519G1056G565G4314G846G2532G2065G846G2443G2597G2532G2390G846G5207G1063G3195G59948Jesus therefore said to him, "Unless you [people] see signs and wonders, you [simply] will not believe."G3767G2036G2424G4314G846G3362G1492G4592G2532G5059G4100G3364G410049The royal official *said to Him, "Sir, come down before my child dies."G937G3004G4314G846G2962G2597G4250G3450G3813G59950Jesus *said to him, "Go your way; your son lives." The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and he started off.G2424G3004G846G4198G4675G5207G2198G2532G444G4100G3056G3739G2424G2036G846G2532G419851And as he was now going down, [his] slaves met him, saying that his son was living.G1161G846G2235G2597G846G1401G528G846G2532G518G3004G3754G4675G3816G219852So he inquired of them the hour when he began to get better. They said therefore to him, "Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him."G3767G4441G3844G846G5610G1722G3739G2192G2866G2532G2036G846G3754G5504G1442G5610G4446G863G84653So the father knew that [it was] at that hour in which Jesus said to him, "Your son lives"; and he himself believed, and his whole household.G3767G3962G1097G3754G1722G1565G5610G1722G3739G2424G2036G846G3754G4675G5207G2198G2532G846G4100G2532G846G3650G361454This is again a second sign that Jesus performed, when He had come out of Judea into Galilee.G5124G3825G1208G4592G2424G4160G2064G1537G2449G1519G1056

Prayer Tents is a Christian mission organization that serves Christians around the world and their local bodies to make disciples ("evangelize") more effectively in their communities. Prayer Tents provides resources to enable Christians to form discipleship-focused small groups and make their gatherings known so that other "interested" people may participate and experience Christ in their midst. Our Vision is to make disciples in all nations through the local churches so that anyone seeking God can come to know Him through relationships with other Christians near them.
