Joshua 15

The Land of Judah

15So this was the lot of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families: The border of Edom at the Wilderness of Zin southward was the extreme southern boundary.H1486H4294H1121H3063H4940H1366H123H4057H6790H5045H7097H84862And their southern border began at the shore of the Salt Sea, from the bay that faces southward.H5045H1366H7097H4417H3220H3956H6437H50453Then it went out to the southern side of the Ascent of Akrabbim, passed along to Zin, ascended on the south side of Kadesh Barnea, passed along to Hezron, went up to Adar, and went around to Karkaa.H3318H5045H4610H5674H6790H5927H5045H6947H5674H2696H5927H146H5437H71734From there it passed toward Azmon and went out to the Brook of Egypt; and the border ended at the sea. This shall be your southern border.H5674H6111H3318H5158H4714H8444H1366H3220H5045H13665The east border was the Salt Sea as far as the mouth of the Jordan. And the border on the northern quarter began at the bay of the sea at the mouth of the Jordan.H6924H1366H4417H3220H7097H3383H1366H6828H6285H3956H3220H7097H33836The border went up to Beth Hoglah and passed north of Beth Arabah; and the border went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben.H1366H5927H1031H5674H6828H1026H1366H5927H68H932H1121H72057Then the border went up toward Debir from the Valley of Achor, and it turned northward toward Gilgal, which is before the Ascent of Adummim, which is on the south side of the valley. The border continued toward the waters of En Shemesh and ended at En Rogel.H1366H5927H1688H6010H5911H6828H6437H1537H5227H4608H131H5045H5158H1366H5674H4325H5885H8444H58838And the border went up by the Valley of the Son of Hinnom to the southern slope of the Jebusite city (which is Jerusalem). The border went up to the top of the mountain that lies before the Valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the end of the Valley of Rephaim northward.H1366H5927H1516H1121H2011H5045H3802H2983H3389H1366H5927H7218H2022H6440H1516H2011H3220H7097H6010H7497H68289Then the border went around from the top of the hill to the fountain of the water of Nephtoah, and extended to the cities of Mount Ephron. And the border went around to Baalah (which is Kirjath Jearim).H1366H8388H7218H2022H4599H4325H5318H3318H5892H2022H6085H1366H8388H1173H715710Then the border turned westward from Baalah to Mount Seir, passed along to the side of Mount Jearim on the north (which is Chesalon), went down to Beth Shemesh, and passed on to Timnah.H1366H5437H1173H3220H2022H8165H5674H3802H2022H3297H3693H6828H3381H1053H5674H855311And the border went out to the side of Ekron northward. Then the border went around to Shicron, passed along to Mount Baalah, and extended to Jabneel; and the border ended at the sea.H1366H3318H3802H6138H6828H1366H8388H7942H5674H2022H1173H3318H2995H8444H1366H322012The west border was the coastline of the Great Sea. This is the boundary of the children of Judah all around according to their families.H3220H1366H1419H3220H1366H1366H1121H3063H5439H4940

Caleb Occupies Hebron and Debir

13Now to Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a share among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua, namely, Kirjath Arba, which is Hebron (Arba was the father of Anak).H3612H1121H3312H5414H2506H8432H1121H3063H413H6310H3068H3091H7151H704H7153H1H6061H227514Caleb drove out the three sons of Anak from there: Sheshai, Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak.H3612H3423H7969H1121H6061H8344H289H8526H3211H606115Then he went up from there to the inhabitants of Debir (formerly the name of Debir was Kirjath Sepher).H5927H3427H1688H8034H1688H6440H715816And Caleb said, "He who attacks Kirjath Sepher and takes it, to him I will give Achsah my daughter as wife."H3612H559H5221H7158H3920H5414H5915H1323H80217So Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it; and he gave him Achsah his daughter as wife.H6274H1121H7073H251H3612H3920H5414H5915H1323H80218Now it was so, when she came to him, that she persuaded him to ask her father for a field. So she dismounted from her donkey, and Caleb said to her, "What do you wish?"H935H5496H7592H1H7704H6795H2543H3612H55919She answered, "Give me a blessing; since you have given me land in the South, give me also springs of water." So he gave her the upper springs and the lower springs.H559H5414H1293H5414H5045H776H5414H1543H4325H5414H5942H1543H8482H1543

Prayer Tents is a Christian mission organization that serves Christians around the world and their local bodies to make disciples ("evangelize") more effectively in their communities. Prayer Tents provides resources to enable Christians to form discipleship-focused small groups and make their gatherings known so that other "interested" people may participate and experience Christ in their midst. Our Vision is to make disciples in all nations through the local churches so that anyone seeking God can come to know Him through relationships with other Christians near them.
