Duties of the Older and Younger

2BUT [as for] you, teach what is fitting {and} becoming to sound (wholesome) doctrine [the character and right living that identify true Christians].G1161G2980G4771G3739G4241G5198G13192Urge the older men to be temperate, venerable (serious), sensible, self-controlled, and sound in the faith, in the love, and in the steadfastness {and} patience [of Christ].G4246G1511G3524G4586G4998G5198G4102G26G52813Bid the older women similarly to be reverent {and} devout in their deportment as becomes those engaged in sacred service, not slanderers or slaves to drink. They are to give good counsel {and} be teachers of what is right {and} noble,G4247G5615G1722G2688G2412G3361G1228G3361G1402G4183G3631G25674So that they will wisely train the young women to be sane and sober of mind (temperate, disciplined) and to love their husbands and their children,G2443G4994G3501G1511G4994G5362G53885To be self-controlled, chaste, homemakers, good-natured (kindhearted), adapting {and} subordinating themselves to their husbands, that the word of God may not be exposed to reproach (blasphemed or discredited).G4998G53G3626G18G5293G2398G435G3363G3056G2316G987G3363G9876In a similar way, urge the younger men to be self-restrained {and} to behave prudently [taking life seriously].G3501G5615G3870G49937And show your own self in all respects to be a pattern {and} a model of good deeds {and} works, teaching what is unadulterated, showing gravity [having the strictest regard for truth and purity of motive], with dignity {and} seriousness.G4012G3956G3930G4572G5179G2570G2041G1722G1319G90G4587G8618And let your instruction be sound {and} fit {and} wise {and} wholesome, vigorous {and} irrefutable {and} above censure, so that the opponent may be put to shame, finding nothing discrediting {or} evil to say about us.G5199G3056G176G2443G1537G1727G1788G2192G3367G5337G3367G3004G4012G52169[Tell] bond servants to be submissive to their masters, to be pleasing {and} give satisfaction in every way.
