The Raising of Lazarus

33When Jesus saw her weeping and saw the other people wailing with her, a deep anger welled up within him

The Plot to Kill Jesus

47Then the leading priests and Pharisees called the high council

48If we allow him to go on like this, soon everyone will believe in him. Then the Roman army will come and destroy both our Temple

49Caiaphas, who was high priest at that time

54As a result, Jesus stopped his public ministry among the people and left Jerusalem. Jesus Anointed at Bethany

2A dinner was prepared in Jesus' honor. Martha served, and Lazarus was among those who ate

3Then Mary took a twelve-ounce jar

9When all the people

Jesus’ Triumphant Entry

13took palm branches and went down the road to meet him. They shouted, "Praise God!

15"Don't be afraid, people of Jerusalem

16His disciples didn't understand at the time that this was a fulfillment of prophecy. 17Many in the crowd had seen Jesus call Lazarus from the tomb, raising him from the dead, and they were telling others

Jesus Predicts His Death

23Jesus replied, "Now the time has come for the Son of Man

35Jesus replied, "My light will shine for you just a little longer. Walk in the light while you can, so the darkness will not overtake you. The Unbelief of the People

38This is exactly what Isaiah the prophet had predicted: "LORD, who has believed our message? To whom has the LORD revealed his powerful arm?"

7God has promised this by his holiness
