Plans for the Incense Altar

30"Then make another altar of acacia wood for burning incense.H6213H4196H4729H7004H7848H6086H6213 2Make it 18 inches square and 36 inches high, with horns at the corners carved from the same piece of wood as the altar itself.H520H753H520H7341H7251H520H6967H7161 3Overlay the top, sides, and horns of the altar with pure gold, and run a gold molding around the entire altar.H6823H2889H2091H1406H7023H5439H7161H6213H2213H2091H5439 4Make two gold rings, and attach them on opposite sides of the altar below the gold molding to hold the carrying poles.H8147H2091H2885H6213H2213H8147H6763H8147H6654H6213H1004H905H5375H1992 5Make the poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold.H6213H905H7848H6086H6823H2091 6Place the incense altar just outside the inner curtain that shields the Ark of the Covenant, in front of the Ark's cover—the place of atonement—that covers the tablets inscribed with the terms of the covenant. I will meet with you there.H5414H6440H6532H727H5715H6440H3727H5715H3259 7"Every morning when Aaron maintains the lamps, he must burn fragrant incense on the altar.H175H6999H5561H7004H1242H3190H5216H6999 8And each evening when he lights the lamps, he must again burn incense in the LORD's presence. This must be done from generation to generation.H175H5927H5216H6153H6999H8548H7004H6440H3068H1755 9Do not offer any unholy incense on this altar, or any burnt offerings, grain offerings, or liquid offerings.H5927H2114H7004H5930H4503H5258H5262 10"Once a year Aaron must purify the altar by smearing its horns with blood from the offering made to purify the people from their sin. This will be a regular, annual event from generation to generation, for this is the LORD's most holy altar."H175H3722H7161H259H8141H1818H2403H3725H259H8141H3722H1755H6944H6944H3068

Money for the Tabernacle

11Then the LORD said to Moses,H3068H1696H4872H559 12"Whenever you take a census of the people of Israel, each man who is counted must pay a ransom for himself to the LORD. Then no plague will strike the people as you count them.H5375H7218H1121H3478H6485H5414H376H3724H5315H3068H6485H5063H6485 13Each person who is counted must give a small piece of silver as a sacred offering to the LORD. (This payment is half a shekel, based on the sanctuary shekel, which equals twenty gerahs.)H5414H5674H5921H6485H4276H8255H8255H6944H8255H6242H1626H4276H8255H8641H3068 14All who have reached their twentieth birthday must give this sacred offering to the LORD.H5674H6485H6242H8141H1121H4605H5414H8641H3068 15When this offering is given to the LORD to purify your lives, making you right with him, the rich must not give more than the specified amount, and the poor must not give less.H6223H7235H1800H4591H4276H8255H5414H8641H3068H3722H5315 16Receive this ransom money from the Israelites, and use it for the care of the Tabernacle. It will bring the Israelites to the LORD's attention, and it will purify your lives."H3947H3725H3701H1121H3478H5414H5656H168H4150H2146H1121H3478H6440H3068H3722H5315

Plans for the Washbasin

17Then the LORD said to Moses,H3068H1696H4872H559 18"Make a bronze washbasin with a bronze stand. Place it between the Tabernacle and the altar, and fill it with water.H6213H3595H5178H3653H5178H7364H5414H168H4150H4196H5414H4325 19Aaron and his sons will wash their hands and feet there.H175H1121H7364H3027H7272 20They must wash with water whenever they go into the Tabernacle to appear before the LORD and when they approach the altar to burn up their special gifts to the LORD—or they will die!H935H168H4150H7364H4325H4191H5066H4196H8334H6999H801H3068 21They must always wash their hands and feet, or they will die. This is a permanent law for Aaron and his descendants, to be observed from generation to generation."H7364H3027H7272H4191H2706H5769H2233H1755

The Anointing Oil

22Then the LORD said to Moses,H3068H1696H4872H559 23"Collect choice spices—12 1/2 pounds of pure myrrh, 6 1/4 pounds of fragrant cinnamon, 6 1/4 pounds of fragrant calamus,H3947H7218H1314H1865H4753H2568H3967H1314H7076H4276H4276H3967H2572H1314H7070H3967H2572 24and 12 1/2 pounds of cassia—as measured by the weight of the sanctuary shekel. Also get one gallon of olive oil.H6916H2568H3967H8255H6944H8081H2132H1969 25Like a skilled incense maker, blend these ingredients to make a holy anointing oil.H6213H8081H6944H4888H7545H4842H4639H7543H6944H4888H8081 26Use this sacred oil to anoint the Tabernacle, the Ark of the Covenant,H4886H168H4150H727H5715 27the table and all its utensils, the lampstand and all its accessories, the incense altar,H7979H3627H4501H3627H4196H7004 28the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils, and the washbasin with its stand.H4196H5930H3627H3595H3653 29Consecrate them to make them absolutely holy. After this, whatever touches them will also become holy.H6942H6944H6944H5060H6942 30"Anoint Aaron and his sons also, consecrating them to serve me as priests.H4886H175H1121H6942H3547 31And say to the people of Israel, 'This holy anointing oil is reserved for me from generation to generation.H1696H1121H3478H559H6944H4888H8081H1755 32It must never be used to anoint anyone else, and you must never make any blend like it for yourselves. It is holy, and you must treat it as holy.H120H1320H3251H6213H4971H6944H6944 33Anyone who makes a blend like it or anoints someone other than a priest will be cut off from the community.'"H834H376H7543H5414H2114H3772H5971

The Incense

34Then the LORD said to Moses, "Gather fragrant spices—resin droplets, mollusk shell, and galbanum—and mix these fragrant spices with pure frankincense, weighed out in equal amounts.H3068H559H4872H3947H5561H5198H7827H2464H5561H5561H2134H3828H905H905 35Using the usual techniques of the incense maker, blend the spices together and sprinkle them with salt to produce a pure and holy incense.H6213H7004H7545H4639H7543H4414H2889H6944 36Grind some of the mixture into a very fine powder and put it in front of the Ark of the Covenant, where I will meet with you in the Tabernacle. You must treat this incense as most holy.H7833H1854H5414H6440H5715H168H4150H3259H6944H6944 37Never use this formula to make this incense for yourselves. It is reserved for the LORD, and you must treat it as holy.H7004H6213H6213H4971H6944H3068 38Anyone who makes incense like this for personal use will be cut off from the community."H834H376H6213H7306H3772H5971

Craftsmen: Bezalel and Oholiab

31Then the LORD said to Moses,H3068H1696H4872H559 2"Look, I have specifically chosen Bezalel son of Uri, grandson of Hur, of the tribe of Judah.H7200H7121H8034H1212H1121H221H1121H2354H4294H3063 3I have filled him with the Spirit of God, giving him great wisdom, ability, and expertise in all kinds of crafts.H4390H7307H430H2451H8394H1847H4399 4He is a master craftsman, expert in working with gold, silver, and bronze.H2803H4284H6213H2091H3701H5178 5He is skilled in engraving and mounting gemstones and in carving wood. He is a master at every craft!H2799H68H4390H2799H6086H6213H4399 6"And I have personally appointed Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, to be his assistant. Moreover, I have given special skill to all the gifted craftsmen so they can make all the things I have commanded you to make.H5414H171H1121H294H4294H1835H3820H2450H3820H5414H2451H6213H6680 7the Tabernacle; the Ark of the Covenant; the Ark's cover—the place of atonement; all the furnishings of the Tabernacle;H168H4150H727H5715H3727H3627H168 8the table and its utensils; the pure gold lampstand with all its accessories; the incense altar;H7979H3627H2889H4501H3627H4196H7004 9the altar of burnt offering with all its utensils; the washbasin with its stand;H4196H5930H3627H3595H3653 10the beautifully stitched garments—the sacred garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments for his sons to wear as they minister as priests;H899H8278H6944H899H175H3548H899H1121H3547 11the anointing oil; the fragrant incense for the Holy Place. The craftsmen must make everything as I have commanded you."H4888H8081H5561H7004H6944H6680H6213

Instructions for the Sabbath

12The LORD then gave these instructions to Moses.H3068H559H4872H559 13"Tell the people of Israel: 'Be careful to keep my Sabbath day, for the Sabbath is a sign of the covenant between me and you from generation to generation. It is given so you may know that I am the LORD, who makes you holy.H1696H1121H3478H559H389H7676H8104H226H1755H3045H3068H6942 14You must keep the Sabbath day, for it is a holy day for you. Anyone who desecrates it must be put to death; anyone who works on that day will be cut off from the community.H8104H7676H6944H2490H4191H4191H6213H4399H5315H3772H7130H5971 15You have six days each week for your ordinary work, but the seventh day must be a Sabbath day of complete rest, a holy day dedicated to the LORD. Anyone who works on the Sabbath must be put to death.H8337H3117H4399H6213H7637H7676H7677H6944H3068H6213H4399H7676H3117H4191H4191 16The people of Israel must keep the Sabbath day by observing it from generation to generation. This is a covenant obligation for all time.H1121H3478H8104H7676H6213H7676H1755H5769H1285 17It is a permanent sign of my covenant with the people of Israel. For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, but on the seventh day he stopped working and was refreshed.'"H226H1121H3478H5769H8337H3117H3068H6213H8064H776H7637H3117H7673H5314 18When the LORD finished speaking with Moses on Mount Sinai, he gave him the two stone tablets inscribed with the terms of the covenant, written by the finger of God.H5414H4872H3615H1696H2022H5514H8147H3871H5715H3871H68H3789H676H430

27[A psalm of David.] The LORD is my light and my salvation—so why should I be afraid? The LORD is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble?H1732H3068H216H3468H3372H3068H4581H2416H6342 2When evil people come to devour me, when my enemies and foes attack me, they will stumble and fall.H7489H6862H341H7126H398H1320H3782H5307 3Though a mighty army surrounds me, my heart will not be afraid. Even if I am attacked, I will remain confident.H4264H2583H3820H3372H4421H6965H982 4The one thing I ask of the LORD—the thing I seek most—is to live in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, delighting in the LORD's perfections and meditating in his Temple.H259H7592H3068H1245H3427H1004H3068H3117H2416H2372H5278H3068H1239H1964 5For he will conceal me there when troubles come; he will hide me in his sanctuary. He will place me out of reach on a high rock.H3117H7451H6845H5520H5643H168H5641H7311H6697 6Then I will hold my head high above my enemies who surround me. At his sanctuary I will offer sacrifices with shouts of joy, singing and praising the LORD with music.H7218H7311H341H5439H2076H168H2077H8643H7891H2167H3068 7Hear me as I pray, O LORD. Be merciful and answer me!H8085H3068H7121H6963H2603H6030 8My heart has heard you say, "Come and talk with me." And my heart responds, "LORD, I am coming."H1245H6440H3820H559H6440H3068H1245 9Do not turn your back on me. Do not reject your servant in anger. You have always been my helper. Don't leave me now; don't abandon me, O God of my salvation!H5641H6440H5186H5650H5186H639H5833H5203H5800H430H3468 10Even if my father and mother abandon me, the LORD will hold me close.H1H517H5800H3068H622 11Teach me how to live, O LORD. Lead me along the right path, for my enemies are waiting for me.H3384H1870H3068H5148H4334H734H8324 12Do not let me fall into their hands. For they accuse me of things I've never done; with every breath they threaten me with violence.H5414H5315H6862H8267H5707H6965H3307H2555 13Yet I am confident I will see the LORD's goodness while I am here in the land of the living.H3884H539H7200H2898H3068H776H2416 14Wait patiently for the LORD. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the LORD.H6960H3068H2388H553H3820H6960H3068
