New Bodies

5For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands.G1063G1492G3754G1437G2257G1919G3614G4636G2647G2192G3619G1537G2316G3614G886G166G1722G3772 2We grow weary in our present bodies, and we long to put on our heavenly bodies like new clothing.G2532G1063G1722G5129G4727G1971G1902G2257G3613G3588G1537G3772 3For we will put on heavenly bodies; we will not be spirits without bodies.cG1489G2532G1746G2147G3756G2147G1131 4While we live in these earthly bodies, we groan and sigh, but it’s not that we want to die and get rid of these bodies that clothe us. Rather, we want to put on our new bodies so that these dying bodies will be swallowed up by life.G2532G1063G5607G1722G4636G4727G916G3756G1894G2309G1562G235G1902G2443G2349G2666G5259G2222 5God himself has prepared us for this, and as a guarantee he has given us his Holy Spirit.G1161G2716G2248G1519G846G5124G2316G3588G2532G1325G2254G728G4151 6So we are always confident, even though we know that as long as we live in these bodies we are not at home with the Lord.G3767G2532G3842G2292G1492G3754G1736G1722G4983G1553G575G2962 7For we live by believing and not by seeing.G1063G4043G1223G4102G3756G1223G1491 8Yes, we are fully confident, and we would rather be away from these earthly bodies, for then we will be at home with the Lord.G2292G1161G2532G2106G3123G1553G1537G4983G2532G1736G4314G2962 9So whether we are here in this body or away from this body, our goal is to please him.G1352G5389G2532G1535G1736G1535G1553G1511G2101G846 10For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body.G1063G2248G1163G3956G5319G1715G968G5547G2443G1538G2865G1223G4983G4314G3739G4238G1535G18G1535G2556

We Are God’s Ambassadors

11Because we understand our fearful responsibility to the Lord, we work hard to persuade others. God knows we are sincere, and I hope you know this, too.G1492G3767G5401G2962G3982G444G1161G5319G2316G1161G1679G2532G5319G1722G5216G4893 12Are we commending ourselves to you again? No, we are giving you a reason to be proud of usc, so you can answer those who brag about having a spectacular ministry rather than having a sincere heart.G1063G4921G3756G1438G3825G5213G235G1325G5213G874G2745G5228G2257G5228G2443G2192G4314G2744G1722G4383G2532G3756G2588 13If it seems we are crazy, it is to bring glory to God. And if we are in our right minds, it is for your benefit.G1063G1535G1839G2316G1535G4993G5213 14Either way, Christ’s love controls usc. Since we believe that Christ died for all, we also believe that we have all died to our old life.G1063G26G5547G4912G2248G5124G2919G3754G1487G1520G599G5228G3956G686G599G3956G599 15He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them.G2532G599G5228G3956G2443G2198G2198G3371G2198G1438G235G599G5228G846G2532G1453 16So we have stopped evaluating others from a human point of view. At one time we thought of Christ merely from a human point of view. How differently we know him now!G5620G575G3568G1492G2249G3762G2596G4561G1161G1499G1097G5547G2596G4561G235G3568G3765G1097G3765 17This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!G5620G1536G1722G5547G2537G2937G744G3928G2400G3956G1096G2537 18And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him.G1161G3956G1537G2316G3588G2644G2248G1438G1223G2424G5547G2532G1325G2254G1248G2643 19For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation.G5613G3754G2316G2258G1722G5547G2644G2889G1438G3361G3049G846G3900G846G2532G5087G1722G2254G3056G2643 20So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!”G3767G4243G5228G5547G5613G2316G3870G1223G2257G1189G5228G5547G5228G2644G2316 21For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sinc, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.G1063G4160G266G5228G2257G3588G1097G3361G266G2443G2249G1096G1343G2316G1722G846

6As God’s partnersc, we beg you not to accept this marvelous gift of God’s kindness and then ignore it.G3870G1161G4903G3870G2532G5209G1209G3361G5485G2316G1519G2756 2For God says, “At just the right time, I heard you. On the day of salvation, I helped you.”c Indeed, the “right time” is now. Today is the day of salvation.G1063G3004G1873G4675G2540G1184G2532G1722G2250G4991G997G4671G2400G3568G2144G2540G2400G3568G2250G4991

Paul’s Hardships

3We live in such a way that no one will stumble because of us, and no one will find fault with our ministry.G1325G3367G4349G1722G3367G3363G1248G3469G3363G3469 4In everything we do, we show that we are true ministers of God. We patiently endure troubles and hardships and calamities of every kind.G235G1722G3956G4921G1438G5613G1249G2316G1722G4183G5281G1722G2347G1722G318G1722G4730 5We have been beaten, been put in prison, faced angry mobs, worked to exhaustion, endured sleepless nights, and gone without food.G1722G4127G1722G5438G1722G181G1722G2873G1722G70G1722G3521 6We prove ourselves by our purity, our understanding, our patience, our kindness, by the Holy Spirit within usc, and by our sincere love.G1722G54G1722G1108G1722G3115G1722G5544G1722G40G4151G1722G26G505 7We faithfully preach the truth. God’s power is working in us. We use the weapons of righteousness in the right hand for attack and the left hand for defense.G1722G3056G225G1722G1411G2316G1223G3696G1343G1188G2532G710 8We serve God whether people honor us or despise us, whether they slander us or praise us. We are honest, but they call us impostors.G1223G1391G2532G819G1223G1426G2532G2162G5613G4108G2532G227 9We are ignored, even though we are well known. We live close to death, but we are still alive. We have been beaten, but we have not been killed.G5613G50G2532G1921G5613G599G2532G2400G2198G5613G3811G2532G3361G2289 10Our hearts ache, but we always have joy. We are poor, but we give spiritual riches to others. We own nothing, and yet we have everything.G5613G3076G1161G104G5463G5613G4434G1161G4148G4183G4148G5613G2192G3367G2532G2722G3956 11Oh, dear Corinthian friends! We have spoken honestly with you, and our hearts are open to you.G2881G2257G4750G455G4314G5209G2257G2588G4115 12There is no lack of love on our part, but you have withheld your love from us.G4729G3756G4729G1722G2254G1161G4729G1722G5216G4698 13I am asking you to respond as if you were my own children. Open your hearts to us!G1161G489G846G3004G5613G5043G4115G5210G2532G4115

The Temple of the Living God

14Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness?G1096G3361G2086G571G1063G5101G3352G1343G2532G458G1161G5101G2842G5457G4314G4655 15What harmony can there be between Christ and the devilc? How can a believer be a partner with an unbeliever?G1161G5101G4857G5547G4314G955G2228G5101G3310G4103G3326G571 16And what union can there be between God’s temple and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God said: “I will live in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they will be my people.cG1161G5101G4783G3485G2316G3326G1497G1063G5210G2075G3485G2198G2316G2531G2316G2036G3754G1774G1722G846G2532G1704G2532G2071G846G2316G2532G846G2071G3427G2992 17Therefore, come out from among unbelievers, and separate yourselves from them, says the Lord. Don’t touch their filthy things, and I will welcome you.cG1352G1831G1537G3319G846G2532G873G3004G2962G2532G680G3361G169G2504G1523G5209 18And I will be your Father, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”cG2532G2071G1519G3962G5213G2532G5210G2071G3427G5207G1519G2532G2364G3004G2962G3841

1Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers.H835H376H1980H6098H7563H5975H1870H2400H3427H4186H3887 2But they delight in the law of the LORD, meditating on it day and night.H2656H8451H3068H8451H1897H3119H3915 3They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do.H6086H8362H6388H4325H5414H6529H6256H5929H5034H6213H6743 4But not the wicked! They are like worthless chaff, scattered by the wind.H7563H4671H7307H5086 5They will be condemned at the time of judgment. Sinners will have no place among the godly.H7563H6965H4941H2400H5712H6662 6For the LORD watches over the path of the godly, but the path of the wicked leads to destruction.H3068H3045H1870H6662H1870H7563H6
