God’s People Will Be Preserved

7Then I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds so they did not blow on the earth or the sea, or even on any tree.G2532G3326G5023G1492G5064G32G2476G1909G5064G1137G1093G2902G5064G417G1093G3363G417G4154G3363G4154G1909G1093G3383G1909G2281G3383G1909G3956G1186 2And I saw another angel coming up from the east, carrying the seal of the living God. And he shouted to those four angels, who had been given power to harm land and sea,G2532G1492G243G32G305G305G575G395G2246G2192G4973G2198G2316G2532G2896G3173G5456G5064G32G3739G846G1325G91G1093G2532G2281 3"Wait! Praise from the Great Crowd

9After this I saw a vast crowd, too great to count, from every nation and tribe and people and language, standing in front of the throne and before the Lamb. They were clothed in white robes and held palm branches in their hands.G3326G5023G1492G2532G2400G4183G3793G3739G3762G1410G705G846G1537G3956G1484G2532G5443G2532G2992G2532G1100G2476G1799G2362G2532G1799G721G4016G3022G4749G2532G5404G1722G846G5495 10And they were shouting with a great roar, "Salvation comes from our God who sits on the throne and from the Lamb!"G2532G2896G3173G5456G3004G4991G2257G2316G3588G2521G1909G2362G2532G721 11And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living beings. And they fell before the throne with their faces to the ground and worshiped God.G2532G3956G32G2476G2945G2362G2532G4245G2532G5064G2226G2532G4098G1799G2362G1909G846G4383G2532G4352G2316 12They sang, "Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and strength belong to our God forever and ever! Amen."G3004G281G2129G2532G1391G2532G4678G2532G2169G2532G5092G2532G1411G2532G2479G2257G2316G1519G165G165G281 13Then one of the twenty-four elders asked me, "Who are these who are clothed in white? Where did they come from?"G2532G1520G1537G4245G611G3004G3427G5101G1526G3778G3588G4016G3022G4749G2532G4159G2064 14And I said to him, "Sir, you are the one who knows." Then he said to me, "These are the ones who died inc the great tribulation. They have washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb and made them white.G2532G2046G846G2962G4771G1492G2532G2036G3427G3778G1526G2064G1537G3173G2347G2532G4150G846G4749G2532G3021G4749G846G3021G1722G129G721 15"That is why they stand in front of God's throne and serve him day and night in his Temple. And he who sits on the throne will give them shelter.G1223G5124G1526G1799G2362G2316G2532G3000G846G2250G2532G3571G1722G846G3485G2532G2521G1909G2362G4637G1909G846 16They will never again be hungry or thirsty; they will never be scorched by the heat of the sun.G3983G3756G2089G3761G1372G2089G3761G3361G4098G2246G4098G1909G846G3761G3956G2738 17For the Lamb on the thronec will be their Shepherd. He will lead them to springs of life-giving water. And God will wipe every tear from their eyes."G3754G721G3588G303G3319G2362G4165G846G2532G3594G846G1909G2198G4077G5204G2532G2316G1813G3956G1144G575G846G3788

The Lamb Breaks the Seventh Seal

8When the Lamb broke the seventh seal on the scrollc, there was silence throughout heaven for about half an hour.G2532G3753G455G1442G4973G1096G4602G1722G3772G5613G2256 2I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and they were given seven trumpets.G2532G1492G2033G32G3739G2476G1799G2316G2532G846G1325G2033G4536 3Then another angel with a gold incense burner came and stood at the altar. And a great amount of incense was given to him to mix with the prayers of God's people as an offering on the gold altar before the throne.G2532G243G32G2064G2532G2476G1909G2379G2192G5552G3031G2532G1325G846G4183G2368G2443G1325G4335G3956G40G1909G5552G2379G3588G1799G2362 4The smoke of the incense, mixed with the prayers of God's holy people, ascended up to God from the altar where the angel had poured them out.G2532G2586G2368G4335G40G305G1799G2316G1537G32G5495 5Then the angel filled the incense burner with fire from the altar and threw it down upon the earth; and thunder crashed, lightning flashed, and there was a terrible earthquake.G2532G32G2983G3031G2532G1072G846G1537G4442G2379G2532G906G1519G1093G2532G1096G5456G2532G1027G2532G796G2532G4578

The First Four Trumpets

6Then the seven angels with the seven trumpets prepared to blow their mighty blasts.G2532G2033G32G3588G2192G2033G4536G2090G1438G2443G4537 7The first angel blew his trumpet, and hail and fire mixed with blood were thrown down on the earth. One-third of the earth was set on fire, one-third of the trees were burned, and all the green grass was burned.G2532G4413G32G4537G2532G1096G5464G2532G4442G3396G129G2532G906G1519G1093G2532G5154G1186G2618G2532G3956G5515G5528G2618 8Then the second angel blew his trumpet, and a great mountain of fire was thrown into the sea. One-third of the water in the sea became blood,G2532G1208G32G4537G2532G5613G3173G3735G2545G4442G906G1519G2281G2532G5154G2281G1096G129 9one-third of all things living in the sea died, and one-third of all the ships on the sea were destroyed.G2532G5154G2938G3588G1722G2281G2192G5590G599G2532G5154G4143G1311 10Then the third angel blew his trumpet, and a great star fell from the sky, burning like a torch. It fell on one-third of the rivers and on the springs of water.G2532G5154G32G4537G2532G4098G3173G792G1537G3772G2545G5613G2985G2532G4098G1909G5154G4215G2532G1909G4077G5204 11The name of the star was Bitternessc. It made one-third of the water bitter, and many people died from drinking the bitter water.G2532G3686G792G3004G894G2532G5154G5204G1096G1519G894G2532G4183G444G599G1537G5204G3754G4087 12Then the fourth angel blew his trumpet, and one-third of the sun was struck, and one-third of the moon, and one-third of the stars, and they became dark. And one-third of the day was dark, and also one-third of the night.G2532G5067G32G4537G2532G5154G2246G4141G2532G5154G4582G2532G5154G792G2443G5154G846G4654G2532G2250G5316G3361G5154G846G2532G3571G3668 13Then I looked, and I heard a single eagle crying loudly as it flew through the air, "Terror, terror, terror to all who belong to this world because of what will happen when the last three angels blow their trumpets."G2532G1492G2532G191G1520G32G4072G1722G3321G3004G3173G5456G3759G3759G3759G2730G1909G1093G1537G3062G5456G4536G5140G32G3588G3195G4537

The Fifth Trumpet Brings the First Terror

9Then the fifth angel blew his trumpet, and I saw a star that had fallen to earth from the sky, and he was given the key to the shaft of the bottomless pitc.G2532G3991G32G4537G2532G1492G792G4098G1537G3772G1519G1093G2532G846G1325G2807G12G5421 2When he opened it, smoke poured out as though from a huge furnace, and the sunlight and air turned dark from the smoke.G2532G455G12G5421G2532G305G2586G1537G5421G5613G2586G3173G2575G2532G2246G2532G109G4654G1537G2586G5421 3Then locusts came from the smoke and descended on the earth, and they were given power to sting like scorpions.G2532G1831G1537G2586G200G1519G1093G2532G846G1325G1849G5613G4651G1093G2192G1849 4They were told not to harm the grass or plants or trees, but only the people who did not have the seal of God on their foreheads.G2532G4483G846G3363G91G3363G91G5528G1093G3761G3956G5515G3761G3956G1186G1508G3441G444G3748G2192G3756G4973G2316G1909G846G3359 5They were told not to kill them but to torture them for five months with pain like the pain of a scorpion sting.G2532G846G1325G3363G615G3363G615G846G235G2443G928G4002G3376G2532G846G929G5613G929G4651G3752G3817G444 6In those days people will seek death but will not find it. They will long to die, but death will flee from them!G2532G1722G1565G2250G444G2212G2288G2532G2147G3756G2147G846G2532G1937G599G2532G2288G5343G575G846 7The locusts looked like horses prepared for battle. They had what looked like gold crowns on their heads, and their faces looked like human faces.G2532G3667G200G3664G2462G2090G1519G4171G2532G1909G846G2776G5613G4735G3664G5557G2532G846G4383G5613G4383G444 8They had hair like women's hair and teeth like the teeth of a lion.G2532G2192G2359G5613G2359G1135G2532G846G3599G2258G5613G3023 9They wore armor made of iron, and their wings roared like an army of chariots rushing into battle.G2532G2192G2382G5613G2382G4603G2532G5456G846G4420G5613G5456G716G4183G2462G5143G1519G4171 10They had tails that stung like scorpions, and for five months they had the power to torment people.G2532G2192G3769G3664G4651G2532G2258G2759G1722G846G3769G2532G846G1849G91G444G4002G3376 11Their king is the angel from the bottomless pit; his name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in Greek, Apollyon—the Destroyer.G2532G2192G935G1909G848G32G12G846G3686G1447G3G2532G1722G1673G2192G3686G623 12The first terror is past, but look, two more terrors are coming!G3391G3759G565G2400G2064G1417G3759G2089G3326G5023

The Sixth Trumpet Brings the Second Terror

13Then the sixth angel blew his trumpet, and I heard a voice speaking from the four horns of the gold altar that stands in the presence of God.G2532G1623G32G4537G2532G191G3391G5456G1537G5064G2768G5552G2379G3588G1799G2316 14And the voice said to the sixth angel who held the trumpet, "Release the four angels who are bound at the great Euphrates River."G3004G1623G32G3739G2192G4536G3089G5064G32G3588G1210G1909G3173G4215G2166 15Then the four angels who had been prepared for this hour and day and month and year were turned loose to kill one-third of all the people on earth.G2532G5064G32G3089G3588G2090G1519G5610G2532G2250G2532G3376G2532G1763G2443G615G5154G444 16I heard the size of their army, which was 200 million mounted troops.G2532G706G4753G2461G1417G3461G3461G2532G191G706G846 17And in my vision, I saw the horses and the riders sitting on them. The riders wore armor that was fiery red and dark blue and yellow. The horses had heads like lions, and fire and smoke and burning sulfur billowed from their mouths.G2532G3779G1492G2462G1722G3706G2532G2521G1909G846G2192G2382G4447G2532G5191G2532G2306G2532G2776G2462G5613G2776G3023G2532G1537G846G4750G1607G4442G2532G2586G2532G2303 18One-third of all the people on earth were killed by these three plagues—by the fire and smoke and burning sulfur that came from the mouths of the horses.G5259G5130G5140G615G5154G444G615G1537G4442G2532G1537G2586G2532G1537G2303G3588G1607G1537G846G4750 19Their power was in their mouths and in their tails. For their tails had heads like snakes, with the power to injure people.G1063G846G1849G1526G2076G1722G846G4750G2532G1722G846G3769G1063G846G3769G3664G3789G2192G2776G2532G1722G846G91 20But the people who did not die in these plagues still refused to repent of their evil deeds and turn to God. They continued to worship demons and idols made of gold, silver, bronze, stone, and wood—idols that can neither see nor hear nor walk!G2532G3062G444G3739G615G3756G615G1722G5025G4127G3777G3340G3777G1537G2041G846G5495G3363G4352G3363G4352G1140G2532G1497G5552G2532G693G2532G5470G2532G3035G2532G3585G3739G3777G1410G991G3777G191G3777G4043 21And they did not repent of their murders or their witchcraft or their sexual immorality or their thefts.G2532G3756G3340G1537G846G5408G3777G1537G846G5331G3777G1537G846G4202G3777G1537G846G2809

42[For the choir director: A psalmc of the descendants of Korah.] As the deer longs for streams of water, so I long for you, O God.H5329H4905H1121H7141H354H6165H4325H650H6165H5315H430 2I thirst for God, the living God. When can I go and stand before him?H5315H6770H430H2416H410H935H7200H6440H430 3Day and night I have only tears for food, while my enemies continually taunt me, saying, "Where is this God of yours?"H1832H3899H3119H3915H3117H559H430 4My heart is breaking as I remember how it used to be. I walked among the crowds of worshipers, leading a great procession to the house of God, singing for joy and giving thanks amid the sound of a great celebration!H2142H8210H5315H5674H5519H1718H1004H430H6963H7440H8426H1995H2287 5Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again—my Savior andH7817H5315H1993H3176H430H3034H3444H6440 6my God! Now I am deeply discouraged, but I will remember you—even from distant Mount Hermon, the source of the Jordan, from the land of Mount Mizar.H430H5315H7817H2142H776H3383H2769H2022H4706 7I hear the tumult of the raging seas as your waves and surging tides sweep over me.H8415H7121H8415H6963H6794H4867H1530H5674 8But each day the LORD pours his unfailing love upon me, and through each night I sing his songs, praying to God who gives me life.H3068H6680H2617H3119H3915H7892H8605H410H2416 9"O God my rock," I cry, "Why have you forgotten me? Why must I wander around in grief, oppressed by my enemies?"H559H410H5553H7911H3212H6937H3906H341 10Their taunts break my bones. They scoff, "Where is this God of yours?"H7524H6106H6887H2778H559H3117H430 11Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God!
