ELTEKEH

(Heb. ʾeltĕqēh)

A levitical city (Josh. 21:23) in the southern allotment of Dan (19:44). Identified with modern Tell esh-Shallâf/Tel Shalaf (128144), the settlement grew up on the banks of the Sorek streambed (Wadi e-Òarar/Naal Sorek) near the Mediterranean Sea. Surface surveys indicate that settlement continued throughout the Iron Age (ca. 1200-587 b.c.). The Taylor Prism records that during the 701 invasion of Judah, Sennacherib of Assyria captured the town along with Timnah further up the Sorek Valley.

Prayer Tents is a Christian mission organization that serves Christians around the world and their local bodies to make disciples ("evangelize") more effectively in their communities. Prayer Tents provides resources to enable Christians to form discipleship-focused small groups and make their gatherings known so that other "interested" people may participate and experience Christ in their midst. Our Vision is to make disciples in all nations through the local churches so that anyone seeking God can come to know Him through relationships with other Christians near them.
