(Heb. baʿal ḥāṣôr)

A mountain where Absalom, the son of King David, held a sheepshearing celebration, at which he had his brother Amnon murdered for raping his half-sister Tamar (2 Sam. 13:23). At the foot of the mountain may have been a settlement with the same name. The location is generally held to be Jebel ʾAûr (177153), situated some 1032 m. (3386 ft.) above the sea, 7 km. (4.5 mi.) Prayer Tents is a Christian mission organization that serves Christians around the world and their local bodies to make disciples ("evangelize") more effectively in their communities. Prayer Tents provides resources to enable Christians to form discipleship-focused small groups and make their gatherings known so that other "interested" people may participate and experience Christ in their midst. Our Vision is to make disciples in all nations through the local churches so that anyone seeking God can come to know Him through relationships with other Christians near them.
